Assemblage of Uld

"The whirring humdrum of machinery could pierce one's ears. It was simply just that loud -- a machine that big?! Was it even really necessary? The gargantuan, mechanical mount would loom over any person, especially that of a gnome. Puzzling. One would wonder why these tanks were even created - it's far too big for them, right? And why is it in the form of an arachnid, of all creatures?

Their ingenuity always surprises me."

About

The Assemblage of Uld, named in honor of Titan facilities such as Ulduar, Uldaman, and Uldir, is a group of Gnomes serving Gnomeregan tasked with various recovery operations aimed at artifacts, mechanisms, and items of power related to Gnomish interests. However innocent their job may seem, they have a knack for causing trouble and getting their hands dirty; no matter the task, Gnomeregan was always to be listened to.   As of late, the Assemblage has been skewed down a more militaristic route. Mystical items are still a priority, but defending Gnomeregan and its beliefs are imperative.

The Early Days

The Assemblage was formed prior to the initial fall of Gnomeregan. Its core initiative was to hunt and retrieve artifacts and other items linked to their Titanic heritage. Founded by Architect Luigi Cosmograph it gathered a small following and helped their kind understand more about their past, and how it could be used to help them in the present and future.   Tragedy soon struck. Gnomeregan was plunged into a sea of green, toxic irradiation - either killing or warping the population into something vile. Many Assemblage members died in the massacre - or were transformed into the hideous Leper Gnomes.   After the fall, the Assemblage delved into the deep halls of Gnomeregan to try and reclaim some of their lost technology. On one unlucky mission, however, they were ambushed by lepers. Four-fifths of the Assemblage vanished that day, many of these missing gnomes forming the rival 'Disassemblage of Uld' organization.

Assembling the Assemblage

The Assemblage still lingered, but the organization began to boom in active members during the Fourth War. Still led by the Architect, they had managed to travel far across the planet in search of untapped power and platoons to aid. It is here their quasi-religious reverence towards the Titans began to show, and they soon started to worship their creators zealously.   Most importantly, the group of gnomes ventured into a vision of Ulduar, where Designate Ashstrike, a wayward Dark Iron who worked her way up through the ranks, was lost protecting her colleagues.   Notable members joining during this time were:
  • Monty C. Railcraft, knight of the Tinkered Table
  • Ryder Razorfuse, famed soldier of the Gnomeregan Infantry
  • Jerin Boltwrench, inventor and marksman
  • Gelris Tosslespark, munitions dealer and smith of Tosslespark™ Munitions
  • Hyperactivia Cranklink, explosives expert, specialist

A Change in Management

The Architect had been exposed to large doses of radiation during his long life. He had remained largely absent in the recent years of the Assemblage, effectively passing the torch to the Cog Captain, Montgomery C. Railcraft.   Railcraft and the Assemblage became one of the founding members of the Stonewatch Concordat, a terrorist benevolent organization tasked with helping the good people of the Alliance. Created alongside the Dirge of Teldrassil and Order of Oronaar, his de facto leadership kept the group under control... however controversial he was.   The comatose Cosmograph was seized by the Disassemblage.   The Assemblage (with Concordat in tow) searched for an artifact in the alien swamps of Zangarmarsh. Encountering naga and leper gnomes, the group was spurred on to fight... a little too much. Due to a 'misunderstanding' during an alliance-horde relations meeting, the entire Concordat was left in disarray as some wanted peace with the enemies, and others... not so much.   At the penultimate battle against the lepers and naga, a leperised version of the Architect struck a lethal blow to the Cog Captain - injecting him with irradiated ooze. Before he gave in to the serum, he was placed into cryostasis at Toshley's Station, his form preserved before converting fully into what he hates most.   Antiquarian Ryder became Cog Captain Ryder soon after.

A different mechanism

During the changes within the Assemblage, the changes were a change of leadership, it caused the Assemblage to head over to Boin Heavycloak. Boin was the current Forge Captain after the previous one had to return to her home, it involved the events of the Twilight Cultists.   When Piwell was leading the Assemblage, he decided to team up with Boin and officially sign the contract to merge both the Assemblage and the League of Modimus into one unit and go with the name "Forgecog Fellowship" From that day on more decisions were made. Another one is stepping out of the Concordat. Heavycloak also began making allies with the people who some of the Forgecog members never liked due to past events.   Though in time Boin was called back to his mountain, leaving the Forgecog behind. Of course, it needed a new leader, one who would carry on the wishes of the Forgecog and its glory. Lexa Bravebraid who was originally the fourth Forge Captain of the League of Modimus was told of the Forgecog events, causing her to abandon her post whilst it was safe to do so. Though upon arriving back she was informed of his choices, choices she wanted to revert. With Lexa's new right hand, Kanma, she hopes that she can continue with the Forgecog, leading it in a direction every Forge Captain would've wanted.

Allies

The Assemblage is considered good friends of the Oronaari, their technical smarts having impressed them time and time again.

Friendly

The Dirge consider the Assemblage their oldest and greatest allies, having worked together through thick and thin from the strike on Bilgewater Harbour, to the present day.

Neutral

The Sentry has not been doing well cooperating with the Assemblage ever since the events of Bael Modan

At War

Goblins and Gnomes often share a friendly rivalry, but when it comes to the Wildcards and the Assemblage of Uld, these experimental units also seem to experiment in who can blow the other up the most effectively.
