130 BORDEN ARMS HOTEL
488 W High Lane
Charging just 90 cents per night for a room, the Borden Arms offers cheap accommodation for transients, those out of luck, and folk who don’t wish to be easily found. While law-abiding folk do dwell there, the place is often home away from home for criminals on the lam. The owner, Harold O’Connor, doesn’t ask questions but expects his guests to behave themselves.
The hotel offers 16 dingy and cramped rooms, each with its own toilet, although residents share bathroom facilities. O’Connor lives in the basement but is usually lounging in the office off the reception area on the first floor. While the hotel does not provide food, residents my rent a hotplate from O’Connor for an additional 5 cents per night.
Note that the single fire escape has seen better days, and those trusting to its safety for a quick escape at night should make a Luck roll ensure rust hasn’t eaten away the footings.
Notable Folk
Harold O’Connor, 57, is the owner.
Alex Hearne, 24, a known thief and mugger who loiters in the alleys behind the hotel, waiting to strike unwitting passersby. While he hasn’t seriously injured (or killed) anyone yet, it surely won’t be long before he does.
