121 HARDWICKE’S STAMPS & COINS

561 Jenkin Street

Hardwicke is expert in North American coins and stamps, and a sound historian of New England to boot. He deals in rarities mostly by mail, although he is always happy to serve those who walk into his store, especially if someone brings in their collection to sell.

Open 10:30 am to 4:00 pm, Tuesday to Saturday; closed Monday and Wednesday, and for one hour at lunchtime. While Hardwicke may not have a specific coin or stamp in stock, he probably (investigator Luck roll) knows someone who might be open to selling it through him for a small commission.

The pride of Hardwicke’s personal collection is a rare 1794 “flowing hair” silver dollar (the first dollar to be issued by the US federal government and worth tens of thousands of dollars). He also possesses one Declaration of Independence stamp (1869) and has two “Inverted Jenny” 24 cent stamps (1918, of which only 100 exist with the image of an airplane upside down). A keen collector himself, Hardwicke will be delighted to discuss philately (stamp collecting) and numismatics (coin collecting) at length with anyone with some time to spare who wanders into his shop.
