Zagro

The Zagro are a group of ethnic groups that comes from the Zagr, the area between between the Khars hills 150 kilometers south of Tesfan in the north, the Enrekur and the lake of Balag in the south, the Kirfo ocean in the west and the West Great Lake in the east. When the Zagro developed iron working technology in the 35th century B.B, they quickly transitioned to it as there were no tin deposits in their lands which prevented them from entering the bronze age (because they couldn't make bronze). They combined trace elements in their steel, some of which are thought to be nickel and chromium and created Zagro Steel, a hard steel that has beautiful ripples going through it which never corrodes and has similar strength and hardness to the 121 hard (an East Hu-balaiin steel that is like the modern 1195 steel from the real world). The Zagro erected their first civilizations in the 48th century B.B and had powerful kingdoms that traded and fought with each other, the Tesfasni and the Kurs. The Berini Emperor Berlintini I of Berin sent 3 tetrarachies to conquer the northern kingdoms in 210 A.B after he restrengthened the Berini Empire's economy enough that going on new campaigns wasn't detrimental to it anymore. his grandson Luwi II continued the campaign after the Emorian tribes at the Bootleg peninsula's heel's top assembled a coalition that defeated the tetrarchy he sent there. He conquered about 3/4 of the way from the Khars hills to the Enrekur (Berlintini I did 1/3 of the way). The remaining Zagro kingdoms on the way to Kur were conquered by Filip II on his way to his campaign in Kur, leaving only the kingdoms west of the general area around the Enrekur's western longitude as he sought Kur and only conquered whatever was on the way. The conquered kingdoms had their entire royal descendant population killed of by Alexander I of Berin who never ventured on southern campaigns as he was terrified of the Kurs. As the Berini Empire fell to neglect under his reign and fell apart during the reign of his son, local warlords who tore up the region among themselves and wrenched it from imperial control. When Raffaello I re-declared the empire's borders, the Western Zagro kingdoms quickly conquered theses lands, the late Berini Satrapy of Zagra.
