Berini Emperor

This is about the Berini emperor a.k.a the head of the Berini Empire . He has a special status. On the one hand he is in charge and has all his duities and responsibilities and on the other hand his power is more limited and his treatment isn't as grand.

Qualifications

He needs to establish legitimacy, be appointed by the Noble's Ministry or be declared successor by the emperor before him.

Requirements

He must be From the City of Berin and as long as the current dynasty is around he has to have a connection to it (son, nephew, grandson).

Duties

The emperors duties are to keep the empire and it's people in good condition.

Making sure things are as they should be.

Benefits

The emperor wasn't seen as a king, he was seen as his permanent replacement. This meant that you didn't bow to him but you stood up and then got down to one knee and put your hands on the ground. You had to do so when he entered the room, when he addressed you or when you spoke to him. Mario I Berinus adopted this title when he came up with it so as to seem more humble and not portray himself as king, because he wouldn't have to do as much to establish legitimacy. The term "Emperor" didn't exist among the Berini people until Mario I Berinus.

Accoutrements & Equipment

The Berini emperor didn't wear a crown until the time of Luwi II. He was forbidden from doing so because he wasn't king so he wore a very fancy hat. The emperor's cloak was made of purple silk with a gold trim and with silver patterns on the outside while the inside is covered in many soft colorful feathers. As an over-vest he wore a crocodile skin vest which boldly shows the scutes on the front. The long tunic which reaches about 10 cm below the knee is also made of silk, but it is blue with red patterns going through it. The hat is made of the skin of a false-bird-dragon and has an amethyst on the forehead as well as a silver trim around the edges. Later, the Berini emperor wore an elaborate crown made of gold and silver and gems. The shoes are made of fine leather with replaceable soles.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The Noble's Ministry is a special group of nobles who have a lot of sway and power in the court and they can remove an emperor from his position if he is being to abusive or oppressive. This group was created by Mario I of Berin as a power balance.
