Solarstation II

Solarstation II was originally a small, errant asteroid.  It was rich in Etharium and in danger of colliding with Erbasis .  The gnomes engineered a solution to deflect it just enough to put it into a tenuous orbit around Erbasis.  It soon became a mining colony complete with a solarport.  Overtime it grew into a community and was simply called "Solarstation".   For a period it became structurally dangerous to mine as it became laced with tunnels. A massive new support shell was built around the remaining asteroid that removed the asteroid from the structural integrity framework so that mining could continue at maximum capacity.  With the new support shell the asteroid was no longer visible - the working project name was "Solarstation II" and the name stuck.     A later upgrade gave Solarstation II limited navigational capabilities.  Today, very little mining is done on the contained asteroid, the rest has been left to maintain the atmosphere.   The power for Solarstaton II is primarily derived from a large furnace that burns garbage and other waste byproducts.  Additional power comes from dweamor burnors that consume magic in exchange for power.  Some religious and moral groups claim the station uses necromantic "corpse burners" for fuel as well, however the gnomes have made repeated statements that these are only for the purpose of putting to rest the dead and are not used as a "primary or even secondary fuel source".   There is a saying on Solarstation II that all garbage chutes lead to the furnace.
