Session 8 - A bit of downtime

22nd - 24th Day of Huren (Fall) 1611 - Downtime in Blue Portage

Lane uses a Favor and reaches the conclusion that restoring the dead Lamia leader of the Amberdune tribe is a worthy attempt. By Korvala's accounts Nidalia (the deceased Lamia) was different than others of her kind. It is largely believed that Lamia's are "daughters of Grazz't" - largely hedonistic, slavers and manipulators. However, this was not the teaching of Nidalia - she taught them to seek knowledge and her "trade" was in books and research.

Korvala asks Lane what he makes of the claims coming from Tycho I of signs, wonders and miracles seemingly happening under the name of the Ancient Gods. He's not heard of this - but it is an interesting development... if true this (power granted by the Ancient gods) has not happened in centuries.

Traxacam carouses with the middle tier of society and low-tier prices (due to his growing renown in Blue Portage). He makes a contact! (to be fleshed out later).

Josef works on converting acquired loot into portable ingots. He visits Mushika (and Ayon) in the dungeon. He gets Mushika a "job" with the city guard - they are open to it as long as there is no "funny business", and if there is... they will not hesitate to stop him at all costs. Under a Zone of truth it seems Mushikas first actions would have been to go find "old friends" and re-equip... so having him remain in Blue Portage employed by the watch seemed a good possible start to get him off on a "new path" in life and away from highway robbery. Ayon is left to cool his spike in the dungeon.

Thurgood takes a short journey to Lorcaster to acquite some rare wood from a vendor there (recommended by Gemdal the book merchant). He returns and finds a skilled craftsman in Blue Portage and creates a staff that bosts his thunder and lightning damage.

Olivine - ?

There are discussions in the group of helping the Amberdune booksellers to raise the remaining funds necessary to help them purchase the resurrection diamond.

At first the plan is to take the Amberdune "tribe" to Lorcaster and find them a place of operations possibly with the University. But soon (thanks to Olivine) a new plan is hatched to take them to Freehold (An "all-faiths" commune started by Zane Sylvester).

The group travels to Freehold and speaks with Zane's second in command. She takes in the Amberdune "tribe" - they will be welcome here.

25nd - 3rd Days of Huren & Calm Festival (Fall) 1611 - Downtime in Lorcaster

The party returns the (true original) rare books to Lorcaster University and collects their reward (1 Helm of Read Languages, 500 gp, two spell scrolls).

Lane (and Olivine) visit Ranala Fane. She is hard at work in hiding and building up her defenses against what ever is tome come (aka Thogit and any anticipated Succubi blow-back). The inquire about the trustworthyness of Zane. Ranala summarizes that yes Zane was once on a dark path, in recent years he has turned to the light. She goes deeper and explains that she too was once of a selfish and darker path... and in that conversation admits to Lane that she was part of the raid on his hometown (operating under the leadership of Darien Pradexor). She tearfully apologies for her part in the tragedies that befell the good folks of Greenbriar. Conversation also turns to the one known as "Zloy" (aka "The sandman"). Ranala admits to trying to get close to him, but being rebuffed and really can't provide much on the secretive legend.

Taraxacam and Olvine - enage in Crime, each targeting a mark. Olivine nets 75gp and Taraxacam nets 25gp.

Thurgood goes to the fighting arena and wins some coin (100gp?).

Josef - does crafting turning ingots into goods and selling them.
