Maganor
Maganor was the ancient capital of the Claradeus. The city was destroyed during The Cataclysm and the very land upon which it stood shattered. No trace remains of this city, save for in the memory of the oldest Elves. It is estimated that the city would have stood somewhere in what is now the Velvet Sea.
Demographics
The population was split evenly between Men and Elves, though a Dwarven quarter did exist.
Government
Maganor was directly ruled by Deusa from the central citadel.
Defences
The city was built in a world of peace and as such it has no defences, save for a river to the west.
Industry & Trade
Maganor traded closely with the neighbouring Elven cities of Vissirith and Alior. Merchants from Luroth were also a frequent sight.
Infrastructure
The city boasted the tallest towers and the grandest palaces. All who lived within the city were prosperous.
Assets
Maganor housed the Great Gemstone, which sat atop the spire of the central citadel, the tallest structure in the city.
Guilds and Factions
The Gemstone Guard was formed in 850 to protect the sanctum within witch the Gemstone was housed, and were sworn to protect it from any who might attempt to enter, save for Desua. The Gemstone guard never numbered more than 100 in size and, during the climactic Battle of Maganor, refrained from choosing sides, despite being entirely Elven by that point. The Gemstone Guard was slain in its entirety during the fighting, ceasing to exist with the Cataclysm.
History
Construction of Maganor was started in the year 100 as a joint effort by the Elves, Men, and Dwarves. Deusa himself also helped to erect many of the tallest towers.
Architecture
The architecture of the city is considered the blueprint for all cultures, and all architecture is derived from Maganor.
Geography
Maganor was situated far inland. To the west ran a river.
