I am using World Anvil as a DnD 5e campaign planner. I have created several articles with imbedded statblocks I created for monsters. For some reason, the Article Table of Contents it taking information from the statblocks and adding it to the ToC.

Since the table of contents is auto-generated and cannot be edited, I don't have a way to make it not display those fields as "sections". Likewise, because I am using the provided statblock template, I do not have a way to change how the information is displayed on the statblock to not be a "header".

This first image shows the Table of Contents being generated for a list of spells that includes a statblock for a summonable monster:

This second photo shows how the statblock appears in the article itself.

Ignore that the movement speed says ft. twice...

ANYWAY! I personally think it would be nice if the Article ToC generated the list of sections based on headers but had the option to edit it. Perhaps if you could check or uncheck a box to show or hide each header. Or maybe choose to only show certain heading types and ignore Heading 4 and lower or something.

Those are just my thoughts. Thank you for all that you guys do!

Steps to Reproduce

  • create a statblock using the "Monster / Creature (2020) (Dungeons & Dragons 5e) template
  • embed the statblock in an article (I suggest with other text headers for a more comprehensive example)
  • use "/Article ToC" in the sidebar to generate a table of contents for the article
