Creating a new article with the pop-up editor automatically picks a template

When creating a new article using the pop-up editor (green hammer icon, bottom of right sidebar), while I have an existing article open, it creates a brand new article of that same template. This only happens the first time I try to click to create a new article, when I try the second time the template selector pops up, and doesn't force a new article. This has happened twice for me now.

Steps to Reproduce

Create a new article using the green hammer icon in the bottom of the right sidebar, with an existing article open. A brand new article using that template should pop up, instead of the template selector.

I cannot reproduce this, can you please send us a video of this happening? Does it happen consistently for you?

Sorry for the late reply, got lost in my sea of notifications. I've not been able to reproduce this, but it happened twice before. If it happens again I'll see if I can reproduce it further.
