Writers not able to access Statblock folders and Templates

Since the UI update to statblocks, the following features seem busted:   -Writers cannot view any statblocks organized into folders they do not own. They can see their own folders. There does not seem to be any way to grant permissions to view statblock folders like there are for articles. (Also, these folders cannot next, and that would be a nice thing to add while you are in there if at all possible)

  • Writers seem to have lost access to custom statblocks templates for any world they do not own, and cannot create any of the custom statblocks assigned to my world.
  • Steps to Reproduce

    1) Be a 'Writer' contributor (or 'Advanced Writer' 2) Attempt to view statblocks for the world that are categorized into folders 3) Attempt to create a new statblock based off a campaign-specific template

Hello Leighton Carden - are these "writers" actually writers or Co-authors? Writers and Advanced writers are not meant to have access to statblocks at all.

Hi Leighton Carden! As Dimitris has mentioned, if your players are either Writers or Advanced Writers, they're not meant to be able to create/edit Statblocks or their folder (and were able to do so until now due to a loophole). To fix this, you can make them co-authors (Editor or Co-owner) in which case they will have access to all entities of your world!   Additionally, if you would like to propose for players to have access to statblock creation in your world, you can go ahead and create a Feature Suggestion to propose it to us as we will be reworking the Campaign Manager system soon and will be happy to hear ideas and proposals from your users!   If there's anything else related to this bug report that's still unresolved let me know here.

I’m literally the sole OWNER of a world, and am finding some of my statblocks missing from my folders.

    Leighton Carden @ 11 Apr, 2024 09:07:34

My Writers are not Editors, but I can make them so if that's intended to be required. I am still not seeing the vast majority of statblocks created in my world within the statblock view, including ones I myself have created.

Hey Leighton Carden and anyone else affected by incomplete lists of items, a fix has been deployed for this - please hard refresh and clear your cache and let me know here if you can now see all your statblocks.

    Leighton Carden @ 12 Apr, 2024 11:56:37

We can see them all now, thank you! I have elevated our Writers to Editors, and they are still reporting the Statblocks template dropdown in the new dialog is not populating any of our custom statblock templates, despite them being shared with players. They can create new instances of statblocks by saving an existing one of the same template and clicking 'create new statblock of this type' in the saved banner, but this is a clunky workaround at present.

    Dimitris @ 13 Apr, 2024 02:40:36 Developer

Hey Leighton Carden - the share with players is a function used to share a non-published statblock with your players not your co-authors / writers (it's int he name) If you are using a custom system for your game you can message us to PUBLISH the statblocks so everyone can have access to them

  • Is this a custom system?
  • Is there a reason you do not want to make them public?

Leighton Carden, we've deployed a fix and now your co-authors should be able to see the custom templates of your world and create statblocks with them! Can you please try it out with them and let me know that it works for you?
