I have been experiencing the same issue for a while now, this bug has slowed down my workflow on timelines by a lot. Honestly, I have just planned to tolerated it until a fix came, but to my knowledge, ever since I noticed this bug it has never gone away. I am not sure why it has not been fixed yet, I assume that this bug is just rare among users, and many people are just not experiencing it. Whatever the case may be, I just would like to see this fixed as soon as it possibly can be.

I saw this character eating behavior yesterday. It was so bad that I had to type what I wanted in another app and then copy/paste it back into the timeline. I've seen this in the past, but if I waited a few moments the problem would go away and I could type again. But that pause didn't work yesterday for me. I'm not sure if this is relevant, but it did seem as though my local internet connection was a bit sluggish at the time this was happening.

While working on a timeline today, I've encountered several episodes of the save/character-eating while typing in the Description field. In the browser Console, I saw this error message around the time this behavior was seen:   Uncaught (in promise) Error: Extension context invalidated.

MacOS 12.7.3, Google Chrome v123.0.6312.87

After a little digging, I was able to track this JS error back to a browser extension: AdblockPlus. After disabling that extension for worldanvil.com, I have not experienced this issue again.

Problem seems to be reproducable by typing, stopping, and then just before "saved!" pops up, resuming typing.   Likewise, a temporary user-side fix is, should you start getting spammed by "Saved!", stop typing until the spam finishes.

I've got the same problem when working on timelines. It seems to autosave every single letter I type and if I keep going it either crashes, or misses letters when I'm typing. I'm also using Microsoft Edge.

Ok, so I have news. First of all, sorry for taking this long on this bug. All I can say is it was not for lack of trying. This thing is the bane of my existence apparently. Second and more importantly, a fix has been deployed and it looks promising. I doubt it will completely fix the problem for everyone (although I can hope) but it should make things a lot better for most people. Please give it a try and let me know how things go.
