The new sidebar initially showed my correct notification count of 85. Throughout the day, I got 2 more notifications but the count didn't update to 87, even after a hard refresh. I logged out and back in again to see if that changed anything, and now there's no number at all.   I still have all my notifications, it's just the number that's missing.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Have notifications with a red number on the bell icon.
2. Sign out and back in again.
3. Still have all those notification, but the red number is gone.
