Spell Book

Background Feature: "Voice of the Beasts" You have spent your life studying and protecting dinosaurs and great beasts.

  • You can instinctively read the emotions and behaviors of dinosaurs and other large reptiles, even without magic.
  • When encountering wild dinosaurs, you may roll Animal Handling at advantage to calm or redirect them instead of attacking.
  • Other primal cultures or beast-worshippers recognize your knowledge and may be more inclined to listen to you rather than attack.

Primal Heritage - Your lineage is traced back to ancient, towering beasts. You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened and can frighten enemies with your presence.

Titanic Stamina - You gain proficiency in Athletics, and your powerful legs allow you to jump an additional 5 feet on both long and high jumps.

Unstoppable Charge (1/Short Rest) - If you move at least 20 feet straight toward a target and hit them with a melee attack, they must make a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + proficiency + Strength) or be knocked prone.

Thunderous Roar (1/Short Rest) - As an action, you unleash a deafening roar that shakes the battlefield. All creatures within 10 feet must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency + your Strength modifier) or be deafened and pushed back 5 feet.

Features & Traits

A bone-carved totem of an ancestor, a claw or tooth from a dinosaur you once saved, a hunter’s journal detailing sightings of great beasts, a set of traveling leathers decorated with war paint, Shield, Battle Axe, five javelins, explorer's pack, chainmail, holy symbol

Languages & Proficiencies

“The world was once ruled by great beasts. I am merely their messenger.”

  • Xharnax views himself as an extension of the Titans’ will—a guardian meant to restore the balance that existed before mortals started caging and corrupting the great beasts.
  • He speaks in strong, deliberate statements, much like the slow, inevitable force of a predator hunting its prey.

Personality Traits

BalanceThe cycle of predator and prey must remain unbroken. (Neutral)

  • Xharnax believes that every creature has its place in nature, and the Time Raiders violate this law by turning dinosaurs into war machines.
  • He does not seek revenge, only the restoration of order—but he will mercilessly destroy those who refuse to see reason.

Ideals

A mentor taught me the ways of the Titans, but they vanished. I must find them.

  • His former mentor, an elder Titan Warden named Kraxoth, disappeared while investigating the Time Raiders’ experiments on captured dinosaurs.
  • Some say Kraxoth was killed, others believe he was taken and brainwashed, or worse—betrayed the old ways.
  • Xharnax follows his mentor’s trail, hoping to learn the truth and bring justice if necessary.

Bonds

I judge others harshly if they show fear in the presence of great beasts.

  • To Xharnax, fear is weakness, and weakness has no place among the worthy.
  • He is frustrated by cowards who flinch at the roar of a predator, and he does not tolerate those who kill for sport or panic in battle.
  • If he respects someone, it is because they have stood before the mighty and did not waver.

Flaws
You were raised to believe that dinosaurs are the sacred echoes of the Titans, massive beings that once roamed the land and shaped the world itself. Your people protect them from harm, ensuring that they live free, untamed, and worshiped as living gods.

But now, the Time Raiders have arrived. They hunt, capture, and corrupt the mighty creatures, turning them into war beasts and weapons. You have sworn to end this desecration.

Personal Code (Optional)
Dinosaurs must not be caged or enslaved.
Those who steal the might of the Titans must face justice.
To prove one’s worth, one must face a great beast and emerge victorious.

Origin – Guardian of the Titans
"I am the Maw of Vulk'Torr. Through my fangs, the Titans speak. Through my wrath, the balance is restored."
Meaning of the Title
• Xharnax is not just a warrior, but the physical extension of Vulk'Torr’s will.
• The "Maw" symbolizes power, judgment, and the natural law—a reminder that he who bares his teeth must be ready to use them.
• This title is earned, not given—only those who prove themselves through combat, survival, and wisdom in the ways of the Titans may claim it.

How Others React to His Title
Among the Dinoborn – Revered by some, challenged by others. Some warriors see his claim as arrogance and may seek to test him in combat to see if he is truly worthy.
Among the Sska’Thar – Respected but feared. To them, "The Maw" represents an unstoppable hunter, and many believe that Xharnax’s arrival is a bad omen for those who have angered the Titans.
Among the Time Raiders – Dismissed as superstition… until he arrives on the battlefield, tearing through their enslaved beasts and crushing their war machines.

The Maw’s Sacred Battle Rite
Before battle, Xharnax carves a sigil into the earth, bone, or a slain foe—a symbol of Vulk'Torr’s fangs.
• If time allows, he places his Holy Fang at its center and mutters a prayer in the Titan’s Tongue.
• In moments of rage, he bites into his own arm, letting a single drop of blood fall onto his weapon—a ritual of primal sacrifice.
• When he slays a great enemy, he removes a tooth, horn, or bone to add to his trophy sash, a testament to the balance he has restored.

Xharnax’s Title – "The Maw of Vulk'Torr"
