Keen Hearing and Smell. The briarbear has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell. Briarblast. After being struck by a melee attack in combat, the spines of the briarbear will flare outward much like that of a porcupine. If the creature is struck in this fashion again, the spines erupt outward with an immense amount of force in nearly every direction. All adjacent creatures must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw or suffer 3d6 piercing damage. Roar of Creation. When the briarbear reaches half its maximum hit points it lets out a terrifying and earth-shaking roar. The vines and brambles surrounding the briarbear begin to coalesce and form into two briarwolves.
Bramble Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit:2d6+2 piercing damage. Thorned Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1d8+2 slashing damage. Razor Leaves. The briarbear launches a set of razor-sharp leaves at one or two targets. Ranged Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., up to two targets. Vine Lash. The briarbear attempts to lash a target within 20 feet with a thorned vine. The target must succeed on a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw or suffer 2d4+2 piercing damage and become grappled by the briarbear. If the target is beyond 10 feet when struck by this ability, they are pulled 5 feet toward the briarbear. Each turn, as an action, the target may attempt to break the bond using a DC 13 Strength or Dexterity check. If the check is failed, the target suffers 2d4+2 piercing damage and is pulled 5 feet toward the briarbear.
