Session 1: Along the Eastern Coast

by Ozil

Arrival to the Land 16/4/1409

So I've decided to start this "journal" thing because everyone else seems to keep writing things down when something happens and I don't want them to think I'm stupid (which I'm not). They used to do the same thing in college too so surely it has some usefulness? Maybe it'll help me remember where I've left my flask or something.

So ya anyways arrived on this continent thing and we're all supposed to explore it and make it habitable I think? Wasn't paying particular attention- there was a stone in my shoe. But we're not even the first here??? Kinda takes the fun out of it. There's this Vanguard that arrived before us and set up camp which to be fair is very nice of them.

Some of the other guys are so extreme and honestly a bit much, like talking about war and things. We're the first people here. There is no war. Realistically I'm only here because of the money they're giving us and besides, kinda exciting to get to do whatever we want here.

Travel east

Got ourselves a little adventuring party- how cute. The frog is chill- doesn't say much. The pirate- so so, knows what he's talking about to be fair. That "war hero"? Let's not get started. He's adamant to look for war- yet he's too young to be a veteran so why isn't he still at the frontlines? Seems fishy to me. He'd probably kill me if he saw this. He also acts like everyone else is kinda stupid- respects that pirate though in a weird way (mateys in the making for sure)
Anyways we head east along the cliff to the forest

Day 1

Bored already- so much walking

  • Empty plains with rabbits, boring overall

Day 2

Actually some excitement! Weird animals that are diseased or something? Won't be drinking the water from around here anyways. To be fair to the war dude he backs up his cockiness in combat

  • Cliff edge 500ft high

  • Islands on horizon, at least a day by boat

  • Cave at the bottom of the cliff- very rocky, get there by boat but boat won't be able to go in

  • Pteranadon attack from cliff side- usually would nest on land by the cliff edge, don't usually attack groups of people unless they outnumber the group to guarantee a win

  • Pteranadon corpse- skin has a coat of mucus, oily, gelatinous, sticky, blood less coloured than it should be, skin translucent especially around the eyes, eyes are glazed over without a pupil, rotting fish stench even though freshly killed, can't tell if it's a magic effect, entire creature is effected, seems to be a progressive affliction

  • Captain takes the head of one of the Pteranadons back to camp

Day 3

WTTFFFFFFFF I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING. REALLLLLYYY regretting not studying more in college now. Kinda changed my mind about war dude (Adrion), not so bad afterall I guess, still war obsessed but straight up saved me from literally DYING today cause I got surrounded by a FUCK ton of ugly ass creatures. Also got to keep the epic cool amber thing that for SURE has cool magic in it.

  • Forest dense along cliff edge so move more inland

  • 7ft tall Orc speaks a language none of us understand

  • Halfling- was running away from Orc, doesn't understand us- Adrion takes him back to camp as he used healing on him so he trusts him a small bit at least

  • Amber thing- divination enchantment
