Our First Adventure

by Wisp Everbreeze

So I finally arrived in the city of Tolk and WOW! So many different types of people! Orcs, Elves, Birds, Dragon-people! I have never seen so many gathered in such an area! So much energy. I managed to find the entrance to the guild recruitment building, it was incredible! A door in the middle of the town! No matter which way I turned, it was always facing me.

I met a very nice old man named Phoenix, who is the leader of a guild, but not the one I am joining, and a new recruit to his guild I missed his name though! Interesting fellow that one. He showed me the proper way to greet the people of this world by bowing. I ended up joining a guild named Bastions Keep.

After registering and arriving at Bastions Keep I met a really sweet and wonderful barmaid named Tiff! She was so kind and offered me a meal of stuffed spiders. I had never heard of it before, and it was very tasty! The cook is really talented and has offered me access to his pickle jar!!! I LOVE PICKLES!!!!!

I met my fellow guildmates. Lucy Lov, Laguna, Hellaina and Harold. They're all very nice! Lucy seems very strong and confident. Laguna and Hellaina act like a married couple, it's so funny! They are really sweet together! I didn't have much of a chance to interact with Harold, but he seems like a very nice person! He summoned this cute little fluffy bird!!!! IT WAS ADORABLE!!!!!!! I also met the guild master Joust. He seems nice as well...apparently he warned us against talking back to something in the basement? .....Not sure what that is, he wouldn't go into detail. Has me a little curious... I don't want to be rude to whoever or whatever is down there.... OH! and he made it clear we are not to sit down in his chair.

We took our first guild mission to retrieve some mushrooms for someone named Lady Zinmyra. Along the way we met a man named Flowin whose hand was caught in a tree. Apparently a bird was pecking at his hands. The two strongest people on our team (Laguna and Hellaina) managed to get him free from the knot in the tree, and I talked to the bird that was pestering him because he (to quote the bird) just kept talking and he couldn't hear his song.

After meeting with Lady Zinmyra, we went to the caves up north to gather the mushrooms. One kept moving!!! It didn't seem to be doing us any harm, so I decided to let it be and continue harvesting. After hearing a loud crashing sound, it turns out there was a tiny kobold hidden in the mushroom! The poor thing was afraid of us because we were killing the mushrooms. I felt so guilty. They kept pushing Lucy to reimburse them for their broken violin. Lucy felt they shouldn't since the Nox (the little kobold) hit them with it and it broke.

I really felt bad for the little one... I didn't mean to scare him.... so to help compensate him for frightening him and for his violin breaking, I offered up Clopin's harp to Nox. Asking him to promise he will take care of it and not use it to bash people on the head with. He was very grateful! I don't think Clopin will be upset with me for doing so. It was one of his older harps, plus Mother always says to show kindness to others, you never know who needs a kind gesture.

We received our reward, and I offered to be the guild treasurer.....I think that's the person who tracks all the rewards we gain? It can't be that hard to track. Plus I really want to help out in any way! I was a little preoccupied trying to come up with a good way to keep track of our rewards I hadn't even notice the group was talking to this peculiar being called "Follow".....I can't remember what he was called, but he didn't look natural. By that I mean it didn't look like he had flesh or eyes. He looked....shiny and stiff....he mentioned that he likes to make others smile since he is unable to smile him self. The poor man... I couldn't imagine not being able to smile. He asked us to keep a look out for a short dwarf.

Thus ended our first mission. I'm looking forward to going on many more! This was so much FUN!!!!
