Sam's Journal: What is Best in Life?

"What is best in life?"
 
Well, I once heard a guy say it was to "crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women."
 
Look, I've been there, done that. That guy needs therapy.
 
What is truly "best in life?" Not our battles, friend, but rather the moments we fight those battles for. A meal, shared among friends. A song breaking out from the silence. The embrace of a loved one, for no purpose other than "just because."
 
This is what's best in life, and if I pick up the hammer again, it will be to protect the soft moments in-between hard times.
