Session #3, Hi Ho!

by Fynn D'Sivas

We returned to the Different Dog to rest up from our days exploits. We start fresh with foray to the cemetery. The spot where the Emo Paladin is still there, they never cleaned off the spot of immolation. So untidy, so I clean up. This caused some concern. Apparently stitched have complex and arbitrary funerary rites. We head for the cemetery chapel and learn that the Arch Mage payed for the mausoleum. The chapel has extensive records, but no method of cataloging them. I offered to give a presentation on the types and benefits of a catalog is. The acolyte at the time seemed a kindred soul. We return to the mausoleum, there is a stage doll that moves when we are not looking. The paladin body is gone. I suspect it moved of its own accord. This is Karnath, there is no rest for the dead. Do they even ward the cemeteries here anymore?! I had to try and explain the social-economic realties of Karnathi economy. The doll points to the north east. We follow then realize the path leads into the Nightwood.

On my insistence we gather more gear. There was complaints about the delay, but most were unprepared for a venture into the forest. We got fairly lost. We encountered goblins, awaken plants (ugh!), but did meet some nice adventures. I managed to purchase access to a spell. Huzzah! Funds are low now. With some help I have a decent map of this portion of the forest.

The Nightwood is entangled with the feywild. We found a portal, an old spilt oak. We tried to enter, but we lacked a key to activate the portal.

Populace is difficult to work with. I will admit to not understanding funerary rites of the stitched. The slapping seems sizisum. I was hoping for less racism from such a new race, but same old same old with folks outside of Zilagro. Still I suspect much of there issue is the the gestalt nature of their minds. Imagine never being of one mind on anything. It is hard to correct them. They assume if an idea that does not originate from one of their minds facets it is wrong. I wonder if the stitched have some sort of consensus buffer? Perhaps some weighted voting scheme? I am concerned there will be issues when we catch up with the stitched zombie paladin. The pattern so far is we defeated the undead version, then the soul is sets free. If cleaning a bit of carbon is offensive, what happens when I electrocute implode the reanimated stitched to dead dead?

Zonzi does not have a dead twin named Yonzi. Maybe he is a cousin. He has no spirit attached to him, No idea why he still reeks of fish. Lady Furry Feathers has given up on him giving her a fish. However, she heard he has bacon. No idea why Fonzi thinks I eat vegan bacon. Crazy Sarlonan gets a free meal and he asks for a continental breakfast. Melba toast and jam is too breakfast.
