BLOOD in water

by Lunadris Marianath

We are still in the Sahuagin city of Zara'Grandula. We have made our way into the Tooth, the spire in the center of the city where we were told we might find the last bit of the crew from the Zephyr, the missing Crannaform, and stop the evil Sahuagin leader.
My crew is a little weird and rambunctious but I like it. They underwent a ritual from the Crannaform (crab people) to be able to breath and swim underwater. It appears as if they took on aspects of denizens of the deep. Torrielle has some angler aspects, Algar has some bio-camo aspects, Kalibek has some eel like aspects, and Stilga has some anemone aspects. They are able to speak the language of the Crannaform and the sahuagin, I'm jealous, and have learned how to move through the water with great speed. They seem perturbed by the need for salt water though. they claim that they dry out if on land for too long. My scales protect me from such inefficiencies but perhaps it will help them understand my longing to stay hydrated.
After a short rest, we used my arcane eye to peer below to the next level. I was able to preview the lower level and saw a good number of Sahuagin beating up a Crannaform. We jumped right into action to help it. Algar and Stilga led the charge with Kalibek and TorriEELle (as a giant eel) followed behind. Petruska and myself took the rear. We caught the buggers from behind but they were tough. It took us a bit to take them down. Algar and Stilga went to work protecting TorriEELle and Petruska while Kalibek and I aided from the back. These deep dwellers are not used to the light from the surface so my Silvery Barbs spell was very effective to thwart a few critical attacks from them. They were tenaciously tough. Each hit and kill caused blood to fill the room which only made them attack harder. Even with their onslaught, we were able to take them all out before collecting ourselves and checking on the lone Crannaform.
We offered help to the Crannaform who thanked us. We asked it some questions about the layout of the level, they told us that this was the resting level of the Tooth and the Sahuagin rest here. Before heading back up, we told them to not open the gate, but the Crannaform immediately swam back up... hopefully they don't leave the gate open...
This level looked much like the higher ones, center chamber with several doors. We figured we should take some time to check the rooms for possible loot as well as ensure there were no more enemies. I summoned Gil, my octopus familiar, who was a little reluctant but agreed to squeeze through to check out the other side. After a brief scout, Gil came back and told me that it was clear, he couldn't see anyone in there. With his 8 thumbs up, we quietly opened the door to see. . .
