Stranger in the Woods

by Draco Alatar

A stranger has been seen approaching this small hamlet and a small gathering of adventurers are going to meet him. I will gladly accompany them as I am perplexed at his arrival and purpose. Among our group are Rolen Laiadon, Jor Haldon (GlennHaven Sheriff), Link and myself. Apparently after a brief description Rolen appears to have met this man before. He is supposed to be a druid from Nune Challa called White River Wolf.

Now I am truly intrigued, all magic must be observed and documented. We head forth riding two for one on mounts in order to half our travel time. We arrive and meet this Druid from the Red Plains and he has a small encampment constructed and is skinning and preparing a deer. Rolen and White River Wolf both exchange some banter and reminiscence on their time in the Red Plains, were adventurers from GlennHaven were able to tame some wild horses and slay a massive amount of Gnolls, something to that nature. The exhilarating part of the conversation is when White River Wolf began to speak of making ChaHari Bone Weapons or Armor for the lot of us as symbol of gratitude for greeting him. He also wishes to venture to our hamlet and join the Druid's Grove. Eloquently I accept this offer and only wish that I may have seen the creation of these weapons/armor and the mystic ancient art of bone crafting, alas this is forbidden and must be done in secrecy.

We head forth from the camp, shortly after Rolen encounters some tracks from what appears to be a rather large bear. We proceed after these tracks and come to its dwelling. Rolen enters and attempts to converse with the ursine, druids sure are rather unique individuals. It is angered beyond tranquilization from mere words. It lunges towards him and Rolen wisely backs out of the cave. We have prepared quite the ambush for this creature and he is quickly dispatched.

The carcass is hauled back to the camp by other three companions as I lead the way clearing the ground with the tried and trusted mage hand. I despise this filth, dirt and manual labor. I never should have worn my fine robes. Nonetheless we return and White River Wolf gets to work and crafts some exquisite creations. I procure a staff that is light as air and just as sturdy as its predecessor. Rolen adorns himself in Armor and dons a new Shield as well, Link receives a blade of some sort and finally Jor has a rather odd request and White River Wolf crafts him a boomerang.

It shall be quite beneficial and advantageous to have a Druid of this caliber amongst the druids in the Grove. I shall study them immensely and see what more I can learn about their attunement to nature, their magic and this bonecrafting, maybe another tome to add to the library.
