Erik spends the following week focusing on transcribing spells from Tolstoff's book to his own spell book. He focuses on the conjuration spells first because those are the easiest ones and then moves on to the others. He goes out the first day, of the seven-day period and finds a merchant in Frandyln that is willing to trade with him converting the large, 1,000 gold coin gem he recently received into smaller gems to allow him to split his wealth up each day to purchase appropriate inks and such to transcribe the spells. After acquiring his gems, he buys the supplies for the first day's work and spends the next five hours transcribing the level one spells from Tolstoff's book to his own.
On day two he purchases adequate supplies to transcribe two of the level two spells over to his own spell book, and then on day three he rinses and repeats this process to transcribe two additional level two spells.
On day four he transcribes counter spell from the level 3 spells.
On day five he focuses on transcribing Dimension Door which takes him four hours and he also transcribes alter self from the level two section.
On day six he transcribes the Animate Dead spell into his own spell book.
Finally, on day seven he works on the Ice Storm spell which takes his whole eight-hour day to accomplish.
