I've stumbled upon a great fortune. Although there were no signs of advanced life, I was pleased to find upon my landing, a tribal group that was of very good intellect. I was introduced to two new species at once on my first visit! The first was the one who rescued me, and introduced me to the second. The translator transliterated the meaning of "Mauka" to be, hard scaled running fur beast, but I really liked the transliteration to the point that when the time came to scientifically categorise them I would use the language of the people I first met.
The Ukin Tribe of Lizards was cautious, but friendly. It appeared as if my proximity to the Mauka I encountered was a major factor in their acceptance of the ones they call The Tailless. I do have a tail, which is immediately how I differed myself from the others. They also made specific mention of my skin tone, which to me indicated that the majority of the mammalians similar to me would be of a lighter skin tone, making it far more difficult to blend in with them naturally.
Within a year, I had befriended the Mauka I met to the point that he accepted an official name for himself. It was also during this period that I began my learnings of the Ukin tribe spoken language, without the translator, as well as learning their written language for reference alongside the spoken.
