Finding Floon Blagmaar

by Vrybs Deaqu

We slept till 11am today after staying up so late rescuing Renaer last night. Renaer's servant provided us with breakfast, after which we headed to the market to sell the silver and paintings we had acquired. I was able to find a place to sell the silver, but couldn't find anyone to buy the paintings so we dropped those off bag at Renaer's house before resuming our search for Renaer.

We decided to head to the sewers based on the phrase the Kenku from the night before kept repeating: "Follow the yellow signs in the sewers." We eventually found a yellow marker marking the entrance to the sewers in the dock ward. We climbed down into the sewers and followed the yellow signs until we came upon a tiny aberration with several eyes (Gazer). It attacked us, but I stabbed it through with my rapier. Near this aberration was an exit marked similar to the entrance we came in. We exited into some kind of tavern. We looked around and found some stairs heading down. We descended and found some rooms that seemed to be used as holding cells. Continuing down the hallway, we were attacked by some goblins. I wanted to convert them, but unfortunately my Toll the Dead spell was a little too potent for their frail bodies. Further down the hallway, we entered into a room where we found a duergar, and a human who had attacked Yara at the Yawning Portal. We quickly disposed of them and continued into the next room. There we saw a mage with his foot holding down Floon. There was also an intellect devourer and a mind flayer, though the mind flayer ignored us and left. With a blessing from Kelemvor, we were able to defeat the mage and intellect devourer, though Renaer's mind was devoured. After exploring a little more of the hideout, we found what seemed to be a secret door that we didn't know how to open. We also found an exit into a hostel on Brian's street and an exit into a halfling family's home.

We eventually got Renear to a temple for healing and met up with Volo. He unfortunately didn't have the funds he'd promised to pay us with, but he did sign over a deed to Trollskull Manor to us. Kylynne Silmerhelve, a magistrate, signed off on the transaction. We then spent the night at the manor.
