Journal Entry 1: Touchdown on Yeter

by Kira Caliban

After getting acquainted with the ship and crew, we scanned 2 planets: Habrion and Yeter

Yeter seemed to have substantially more resources.

We picked Yeter for the following reasons:

  • because of their advanced magic, they're not as advanced in areas of technology. This low tech environment is more familiar to our party

  • our races all exist on the second planet, while the first was exclusively elves and pixies, we would have stood out

  • additionally the first planet was generally hostile to foreigners

  • generally, there was more magic, items, and civilizations to explore and report back on- which in turn means we'll have more valuable information to contribute

  • Touching down, we encountered several citizens who appeared to be rural farmers, and Asdra discovered a local that sheltered us for the night. The local provided us with key information: we were essentially in a neutral territory of the planet, one that provided food to the rest of the world's population in exchange for neutrality.

We stayed in the barn of a local, unfortunately while settling down for the night we had an unfortunate magical accident, though I will say the resulting information is at least intriguing:
  • a mixing of magics led to the creation of a man from a former sheep, he displayed many physical characteristics of his former body, and expressed sentient thought.

  • we scanned him, and recieved interesting information, which I'm sure will be valuable from a "proving something is possible"  perspective.

  • This led to interactions with several of the gods, who came in to both destroy the creation itself (understandably so) and to see if we could replicate our actions.
  • We were indeed able to replicate them after a time, and have not received sentencing yet. We have been ordered to remain planetside.

  • I think that the gods may see potential in us, and are considering the possibility of using us instead of punishing us. And here I thought I'd get to experience torture at the hands of a god. Truly a once in a lifetime experience. Hah, my humor is terrible.

  • We saw two different groups of gods, I am presently unaware of the power dynamics between the two groups, but the structure of the ones we interacted with was that of a pantheon, and the total number of members was 14. I would assume the ones we talked to had higher jurisdiction than the ones that went to meet them- though that hypothesis remains to be proven or disproven. They appeared to be arguing with each other- over what, well- I assume it to be us. Perhaps over who has the right to judge us?

Generally, most of the gods seemed to dislike being drawn in for a meeting, but appeared to be divided or even undecided on how things should be handled. The meeting was called by the planet's Mother Nature.

Midas- head of the Gods, enjoys making an entrance. From what the other gods mentioned, he seems to become volatile if he feels he has been disrespected. He carries himself in a manner appropriate of a king, and generally seemed to regard the entire event as under Mother Nature's jurisdiction. Seeing as it was the laws of nature specifically that were tampered with.

Rune, Goddess of fertility- she was overall very friendly, seemed to be more interested in us than upset.

Mother Nature- arrived last, and was understandably the most aggressive towards us. She is very strong and most definitely the most pissed at us presently, but did not neglect to fix the gaping hole created by Midas, and generally obstained from smiting us. She however, seemed content enough that we replicate our actions and promise not to leave. Obviously, we choose life.

God of torture- appears to be an eccentric individual, popped into the meeting inside a rabbit skin. He was quite conversational, a mark of an exceptionally talented torturer.

Goddess of war- a serious individual, killed the first incarnation of a sheep-man. Does not bear any hostility to us, was more frustrated at having to clean up than anything else.

God of war- also serious, incredibly strong. No visible face, it will be difficult to read tells on him

God of hell- sporting tattoos and skulls, somehow seems to be vying with Rune for the most laid back of the bunch.

Current death toll: Eoin's beard, 1 sheep turned into a man, 1 cat turned into a man.
