Lav Tash's Guide to the Elementalist; Intro

by Lav Tash

Though I may be young, I have traveled far and have beared witness to the grotesque potential of corrupted minds. Through losing everything I have learned to embody the ways of the elements. Through my wanderings, I was blessed by Lady Rose to protect life. With these blessings of the elements and m’lady, I am dedicated to the protection of these elements and the life in which they sustain.

Elementalists are gifted the ability to “interface” with all four elements intuitively once the individual experiences a great loss. This loss allows for the will and its power to be deconstructed and then reconstructed in accordance with the elements. Though this is not the only path to elementalism, it is the most common path to elementalism. So many communities have turned into cities, rejecting and persecuting the individuals that once characterized these communities. This widespread rejection into poverty and houselessness, this loss of hope, is what largely drives Elementalists to this path. Once hope is seemingly lost, we embrace the elements we were thrust into and learned to live with them.

Becoming an Elementalist means that you will be able to call upon all of the elements. To common understanding, this includes fire the element of power, water the element of change, air the element of freedom, and earth the element of substance. However, through my escapades with the Lady and my friends, I have come across two other, distinct elements. One of which is light, which only manifests in matters of death and the other being shadow which is evoked when healing. I have yet to meet another Elementalist that wields such elements nor have I met a healer who wields shadows in their practice nor have I met a light-wielding mortician. However, through my shenanigans with Ramaria and Dulliander, I have come to realize that there is a great deal that I do not know.

Aside from what I don’t know, I intend to cover the extent to which the elements can be employed and how “best” to do so. I will also note the cultures surrounding the element and the ways in which these elements can be applied to each other to yield some rather unique bending practices. Since this became my introduction, I will also add here that not all who develop relationships with the elements do so in this manner, and even not all Elementalists become so in this manner. However, because this is how I became an Elementalist, the ways in which I teach bending and elementalism are going to be largely influenced by such.
