A new job

It's been nearly seven months to the day, since the day of Mourning. Seven months, and finally the first of the expeditions have been prepared for. I shall journey to Metrol, once the capital of Cyre. My journey is long, I shall take the lightning rail to Sharn, from Wroat, my current station. Then from Sharn, I travel by sea to Trolanport, where I shall meet with the other members of this expedition, of which there are ten.
 
I know nothing, so far, about them other than their names and races, which are as follows:

After we have all met up, we shall sail to Pylas Maradal, then ride to Taer Valestas, before making the long ride to Gatherhold through the blade desert. There has been much discussion on whether we should take the lightning rail to Metrol. I say it's too dangerous, that there would be too much unknown to us on that journey, but the majority of the others wish to arrive and leave as soon as possible, and even I can't deny that I don't want to spend more time in that cursed place than we have to.
 
Anyway, I have to prepare myself. The journey is long, and I haven’t been at sea for decades. I’m looking forward to it.
