Aftermath of Trouble

by Artemis Azazel Animotix-Naerth

In the morning, Kalnar tries to make Artemis an omelet for 'breakfast', its around noon. Artemis sighs, and proceeds to show him how to properly make an omelet; no Kalanar, recipes are not spells.

After 'breakfast', they three head to the guildhall to find out what to do next. Turns out, that the best thing they should do right now is to wait for whatever the authorities need them for. Shrugging, Artemis asks if she could help out at a greenhouse or something to pass the time until then. After about an hour, a Lieutenant appeared to take the group into the station to take our statements. Pax, Theoden, Kalanar and Kaladar are asked to make their statements before Artemis. Upon her turn to make a statement, Artemis gives full disclosure of the events from her perspective, to the best of her memory. After her interview, the group minus Ang, decided to attend to the giant Rat problem that a local grocery store was having. Artemis heads to the Gladiator pits to let Ang know of the development, and to watch some of her matches.

The next day, the Runebreakers meet up at the guildhall before heading to the grocery store to talk to the quest giver. The quest giver shows us where the warehouse with the infestation is, and asks us to try to not damage the building, and save any goods that are still in good condition. After he leaves, Artemis flys Kalanar up to the roof to see what they could spy through the sunlights on the roof. The rodents turn out to be the size of Nome's! They do not spy any of the giant centipedes or spiders that were mentioned however. Kalanar tries and sells an idea of hanging from the ceiling to take out the rats, but Artemis just gives him a blank look while twitching her wings before informing him that she herself has no need to hang from the ceiling, since she could just fly. Not wanting him to feel bad about his idea, however, she does mention how the rest of the party might be interested in his plan. Artemis Fly's them back down to the rest of the party so that they could tell the others what they saw.

Ang, and Kaladar are not impressed by Kalanar's plan, though Theoden seemed interested. Artemis, getting a bit impatient, gives her opinion of how they should tackle this problem in a straight forward fashion. The rats will act on fairly basic fight or flight instincts after all. Though, she does say that it would probably be more fight then flight, as their unusual size indicates that they are likely more aggressive then normal rats. Ang asks Pax for his opinion, and he states that he agrees with Artemis on this one, and say Ang should 'have fun'. Grinning at that, Ang prepares her weapons, and asks who is going to open the door for her. Artemis obliges, as Kalanar and Kaladar are quietly arguing over the ceiling plan still.

The party charges in, and the rats within sight converge on the party. The fight between the runebreakers and the rat pack doesn't take long, an though they take some damage, the party easily deals with the first onslaught of the over sized rodents.

After clearing the building, the Runebreakers inform the building owner that they have cleared the infestation from the warehouse. Satisfied with the job done, we get paid for our services before the party separates for the week.
