A hunch pays off!

by Baron Jared Maximus

I knew my instincts were right, Martha. We returned to Corbin's room, sticking to our usual routine, and uncovered a fragment of an ancient monolithic statue. While its exact age is hard to pinpoint, its significant wear and tear clearly indicate it's very old. This statue absolutely does not belong to Corbin. If my suspicions hold true, it most likely came from the forest. Restoring it is crucial; it might just be the key to putting the Oath Keeper back to sleep. It has already claimed one life, and I refuse to let it take any more. I am determined to prevent further tragedies, even if it costs me my own life—though I don’t intend to let it threaten my companions. We’re heading out this morning, and a reckoning is coming.

Remember you are the Lady of the household; in my absence, you must lead.

I have faith that you will bring honor to the family name.

Love you,
Jared
