My question of how Payne was going to handle his wife being a vampire and what he was going to do if he saw her again has been answered. He’s not. Hope killed her for him, at the cost of the use of her arm and leg. I hate that I can’t do anything to help her, either.
I hate that I’m envious that Payne will no longer have to worry about his ex-wife and didn’t have to be the one to kill her. I doubt we will be that lucky with the rest of our loved ones. I only hope I don’t have to meet Cecelia. She’s not her, though. Cecelia is dead, and whatever she is now is not what she was.
Mel said he’d be there if/when we meet her. And while that thought comforts me I am terrified that he will be hurt. I can’t let him be hurt, I’ve hurt him enough for this lifetime. I just want him to be happy. I will do whatever that takes. Even if that is planning on breaking out Lisa from Hell one day.
That idea could go horribly wrong so quickly. I told him Lisa wants to be with her husband there, but since she doesn’t belong he wants to save her. I don’t think she wants, or needs, saving. She didn’t want it when we talked with her, but Mel seemed so adamant. Honestly, for Hell, the fancy mansion she’s in doesn’t seem half bad. I don’t want him doing something that gets himself stuck there, too. I don’t want him to go off and do this alone. I’m going to help him, even if that means we’re added to Mistress’ collection.
A thought I’ve had is to see if I could snag a moment for Mel with Lisa with a deal. Maybe take a page out of my cousin’s book and see if she’d deal in Fey deals instead of souls. 10 minutes for them for a favor of her choosing. It’s not the first time I’ve done this, and I have some sinking feeling it won’t be the last. My one stipulation is the favor has to be agreed upon at the time of the deal making. I have to know what it is. I need to talk to Mel about this, and he wants to do this after we finish our current plan of saving the world from total doom. There’s time to refine this idea. Probably.
We also have to return home at some point. What if there’s a war and his father dies? Does he take his place? How does that affect his pact? What is going to happen if an Archfey gets sucked into Hell??
Maybe I need to stop worrying so much about the future, and worry more about who the hell this Mayor is that wants to have us visit for dinner so much and how the hell they knew to find us at Hope’s house.
