Personal history

Captured as a young kit at the age of 4 (year was 1070), by an exotic pet salesman I was brought to the City of Rippa and was sold as a “racoon” to a bored noble (old money). The noble named me Little Nox When he learned of my natural ability to sneak around, He started putting me to use beyond mere amusement. He would show me off to other nobles when making deals or when hosting important guests. (to make me more useful he taught me to read/write Common and Dwarvish). I would be their source of entertainment, this talking pet that could do tricks. When “showtime” was over and my Master wanted to get down to business, I was to leave the room and collect any information on our guest(s) rifling though their bags and papers etc. I never stole/broke or altered what I found. I would later share what I found with my Master and he would use this information to gain favor or an edge over the other nobles.
 
How I passed as a “willing servant” when it was learned that I was not just a mere animal
1) Master came from old money; they have a lot of weight/presence in Rippa.
2) I have nowhere else to go, and I am treated fairly well. At the very least, I have never been physically harmed.
3) The lie Master and I tell, is that he took me in and takes care of me in exchange I “work” for him. I have no where else to and don’t know how I would live otherwise, so I repeat the lie with ease whenever it is needed.
 
I eventually became fed up with my way of life. I was not my own being and I no longer wished to be at the beck and call of this man. Chickens have more freedom than I. I wanted to know where I came from (are my parents alive? Where is the man who captured and sold me like a common animal?) and make my own way. For over a year I carefully stashed away supplies that I might need to escape. Gathering the weapons was the hardest part. The night of my escape, I was locked into my “room” for the night as was routine. I picked the lock on the window and climbed down with my gear. Sneaking past the guards I left the estate. I know my former Master is looking for his little spy. The morning after my escape his personal guardsmen were searching for me. Sticking to the shadows I managed to get out of Rippa, and I am now making my way to Intervia.

Motivation

My master is looking for me. I need to find away to be free of him forever. I want to find out where I came from. Who are my parents? Maybe if I find the man who sold me I can learn more.
