About throwing flasks...

by Fowler Doak

It wasn't hard to track down Duvlin, we managed to do it in just two days. He left some decently sized tracks when he was raging through the desert, smashed stones and huge streaks of sand pits all following a simple path towards the stonelike forest northeast of Mourmans-Pothole.
On the way there I shot a druid with my longbow, and he was not too happy yet kind enough to forgive me. Yeah, it's a weird scenario I know but it just sort of happened. When we showed up to the heart of the stone forest we ran into him again and he asked us to not harm the core, I didn't understand what he meant until later. He also told us that there was a group of vandals there he wanted to get rid of and a young boy who shouldn't be there in case he got hurt.

So we keep on scouring the area, and we run into the vandal group first. In lack of better judgement, I figured we should surprise attack them while we ware talking and threw a flask of alchemist fire on the biggest one of them. It didn't work out too well since I just began the fighting at random and we had a hard time taking them down.

As we kept on going we came to the young boy and his trusted dog (a great one at that, smart loyal and active) who was there and tried to tell him it was not safe enough for him to be there, he refused to leave until he had the medicine he needed to save his mother, knowing how that feels I told him we would get it for him if he just stayed put. He agreed to it since he was obviously too strong to enter a fragile place like that. Haha, good lad reminds me of myself in those years.

So we headed to Duvlin in the center to deal with the matter at hand, and also possibly sneak a medicinal cactus into the inventory. Apparently, Duvlin was being consumed or consuming I don't know which, but he was one with the core of the stone forest and since we couldn't damage the core we simply had to let him be. He was kind enough to let us pick some cactus tough so we did that and went on our way, picked up the boy and began walking with him towards his hometown, he wouldn't let us at first but we then asked for him to protect us and he agreed. He even challenged Seth to a fight and we just held a duel between the two. I think the boy knows he got a rather slim chance of beating any of us but I really like that he is still up to try. I couldn't help it but i handed him the other bow I'd been using and slacked the string for it to fit him better, said id help him train and he is doing okay right now, gave him some of dad's old markings as well just to speed up the process for him and I think he can find his aim soon. Takes you back, looking at someone firing for the first time, I still remember how tedious it was before I figured it out. Feeling like you are doing everything like you did last time but still, the arrow finds a different target.

wonder where you guys are, hope you are well.
