Personal history

Octavian is the human son of Myrtle and Ognand Wrezzt. His mother died in childbirth and his father was a pauper living in a small slum village near Yartar. Octavian has always been a strong lad helping his father out as much as he could, hunting, working on the fields, and always trained hard. Though he cared for his father he loathed him for his weakness. His father, a poor a feeble man, tried securing enough funds to care for his family from working as a clerk for a very corrupt man in Yartar. Unable to obtain enough money from his job, Ognand turned to pickpocketing and thievery much to Octavian's disgust. When Octavian turned 12, his father was tried and sentenced to hang for his crimes. On the day he was to hang out, Octavian broke up the procession and fought of several of the guards in an attempt to rescue his father. He successfully fended of several of them but was heavily outnumbered. If not for the intervention of Eyri and Geyla Etthen-Leya, a pair of elven folk who happened to be passing through the town and were intrigued by the commotion. Octavian was restrained by the guards, and his father hanged before his eyes. He was to be sold into slavery when Eyri intervened and spared his life. They adopted him and took him to their home in the elven kingdom. He received training from the best elven swordsmen and fighters. His master, Yttria Tollwynn, was an echo master capable of manifesting multiple clones of herself when in combat. Under her tutelage, he developed his ability to manifest echoes and use them in fights. He grew close to the daughter of the Etthen-Leya family, Elaine. Elaine also wished to be a fighter and grew close to Octavian. He vowed to stay and protect his family from any harm that could come to them or their kingdom. Octavian and Elaine often sparred together and were known to be a fearsome fighting duo, often fighting on the frontlines together. As Octavian grew to be a respected fighter and member of the elven society, he flew through the military ranks and was eventually promoted to Captain. He specialised in training new recruits and, in his most recent battles against the Cult of the Dragon, has earned the king’s favour. While the Etthen-Leya family have allowed him to use their family name he feels unworthy and refuses to use it. As a result of Octavian’s upbringing, he has come to resent his human origins. And he looks down on humanity as a lesser race. He is filled with veneration and respect for races such as the elves and the dragons.

Education

Trained by Yttria Tollwynn, venerated swordmaster in the elven kingdom of Elarindor. Was taught the basic histories and crafts of the elves after being welcomed into their society.

Employment

Dismissed as Captain of the 4th Battatlion of the elven army after taking up a quest to save his sister and friend from the Mere of Dead Men.

Intellectual Characteristics

Well trained in combat maneuvers and tactical thinking. Lacking with regards to social understanding, and bookish learning.

Strength. Power is the route to peace and prosperity. He wishes to create a world in which everyone is able to fend for themselves.
