Ghoz now finds himself, after some turmoil, on the surface world. He has spent years wandering the plains, making money and completing jobs.
Ghoz will never shy away from an opportunity to further his wealth, or fill his bags with useful items. He really can not help himself, at this point its just habitual.
While mainly adventuring alone, Ghoz will occasionally team up with people but never for very long. He is not a leader, more of a loner. Rarely seizing the opportunity to direct his comrades, and acting very much on a whim, he wanders free to take the jobs he wants, when he wants.

Personal history
Ghos grew up in the under dark village of Seahaven. The village located in the lower levels of the Underdark was run by his brother Tack. Leader of the thief's guild LOWMANES in Seahaven.
Ghos real name is Taxzok (TazOAK) but he never uses it. He has a deep belief that names are special and hold power. As a child his mother would take him to the place of worship. This was a special pool, surrounded by solid stone walls. where the water flows in to the pool there is an open mouth of a stone face that is to the likeness of a deep gnome with a hood and no eyes. This was the god of death. Death was not to be feared, but losing your name allowed anyone to summon a deep gnome into the death realm, where they would never be seen again.
Lowmanes ran Seahaven. They demanded monetary tributes and trade concessions in return for protection from other gangs and organizations that roamed the lower Underdark. Ghos was the primary assassin and thief. Always taking or being forced to work the contracts that required absolute stealth and cunning above all. He worked all over the 3 levels of the underdark and was known to all as Ghos because of his quick and willing nature to kill in the name of gold and his guild.
Tack was Ghos' older brother. They fought constantly for their fathers approval. Tack is always blunt and up front, violent and kills people first with little regard to their wants. Ghos would always try to remain sneaky and would always beat Tack in a fight by outsmarting him.
When Ghos was 111, Tack and his mother got into an argument, in a violent rage Tack stabbed his mother in the gut. Ghos had come into the room but other than that, the entire room had been empty. Ghos and Tack exchanged blows and after a deep cut from Tacks dagger, he was able to sneak away. After a healing time with a local deep gnome who patched him up, he returned to the guild to out his brother.
The Lowmane Family guild did not welcome his arrival and they grabbed Ghos and brought him before his brother. At the guild chambers, in front of the entire guild, Tack accused his brother of killing his mother in a violent fit. While Ghos had been healing his brother had been scheming. Spreading rumors that his brother murdered his mom and then ran away. The guild was calling for the death of Ghos. Following Tack and over time they had even accepted him as their leader. Ruthless and precise the gold in the guild was good. His brother challenged him to a fight at the pool of death.
The fight ensued and Ghos, sneaky as he is, was able to gain the upper hand and he put tack on his back and held him at knife point. Memories of his mother filled his head, and the death pool began to shimmer in front of the entire guild. As it screeched and pierced the air, Ghos, unable to deliver the final blow, was thrust into the pool by a ghost like force. His mothers voice calling to him by his real name "Taxzok" (Taz--OAK)
Memories filled his head as he was hurled under water into the pool. Memories of himself as a kid, when his brother would beat him in combat trials and his father would congratulate the winner. Always tossing Ghos aside as the weaker, irrelevant sibling. In reality, Ghos would lose those fights and he would always be consoled by his mother. His mother was proud of him for trying his best. His Father on the other hand. believed that by losing, Ghos was weak, and he was always assigned the tasks for thieves. While Tack was running kill calls and assassinating the people in the street Ghos was stealing documents and gathering notes. These memories hit him and as they did, he felt his lungs fill up with water and he passed out.
As he laid in the dark, oblivious to the outside world and the goings on in his world, he recalled his family and how his guild came to be. A close-knit guild of children, some robbed, and some adopted from orphanages. These orphans become trained killers with fierce loyalty to the family. Ghos' father was the leader, the grandfather of the guild. Ruthless, enacting the death penalty on anyone who would dare to attack a family member from inside. His father ruling by fear and demanding respect, backing it up with ruthless violence where necessary. Orphans were collected. Sometimes they were stolen, sometimes they were willing and other times they were bribed. Overall, the orphans were cared for, but they always were expected to provide quick hands, and ruthless actions when demanded.
He remembered his mother, who would comfort the orphans and allow them to feel a sense of belonging. She would always welcome them and train them to be stealthy and cunning. Encouraging the family trainees to earn their keep as thieves and work contracts that would keep them alive being deadly when necessary.
As he was remembering her, the memory faded out and it was just him and his mother in a room, her face distorted and her teeth grew sharp, her eyes a dark red and her voice screeched, "GHOS"
When he came too, he found himself in the crystal coast inside of a large cave. After a brief exploration, he realized most of his belongings had not come with him, but he did have a small amount of what he expected in his backpack. With hooded cloak on to shield his grey eyes from the sunlight and no clue what time or even area of the map that he is in, he stepped into the light to set things right and get his name back.
