Personal history
Chapter 1: The Budding City of Kessemar
Avejar had once belonged to a modest-sized Firbolg tribe living out in the Nettlegrove, the largest forest in all of Hiran, located within the region of Gibben. Internally sufficient and unreliant of the outside, the collective seemingly had all they needed. Although there were outsiders that would find themselves in their part of the Nettlegrove, any means of long term congregation would be met with rejection. It was no means out of ill will however, as it was just the way of their tribe. While this was true and worked for them, the coming of the Burning Cataclysm would mark the end of their traditional ways. During the world-shattering event, Avejar’s tribe would be culled by the invading demonic horde, having but only a few of his kin survive the five-year long catastrophe as they were completely outnumbered and without any help from the outside.
This would be a wakeup call for Avejar, giving him the drive and the resolve to leave his home, becoming an apostle of sorts, setting off on several pilgrimages of peace, helping out any settlement, small or large, however he can by using the abilities and skills that were imparted to him by his tribe. During his travels, Avejar would make it his goal to help any and all peoples of Hiran in feeling secure and to leave any place he would visit better than he had found it.
In an attempt to integrate himself with normal society, Avejar would find employment in a local craftsman’s guild, the Silver Hound Company, a group of like minded individuals who valued creating and building rather than tearing down and destroying. While the tasks were sometimes daunting and the workload was heavy, Avejar would be able to forge a bond with his fellow guildmates. Avejar, along with the Silver Hound Company would receive an invitation to Kessemar, a fledgling city in the region of Monrei, where they would be the ones to help set up for the festivities of Ember’s Day, a national holiday celebrated all throughout Hiran. During which, at the cusp of the celebration, chaos unfolded and the Silver Hound Company was taken prisoner by the Vulrian Cabal, the paramilitary group led by High Chancellor Sapteon Anatrof of Solgrad. Avejar would make a daring escape with a group of strangers he met during the event and would eventually form an adventuring party with.
Chapter 2: Welcome to Mainland Monrei
After their escape from Kessemar, Avejar, accompanied by his newfound companions, would aid a family of brass Dragonborn in procuring a cart for their travels, eventually finding themselves within the sleepy village of Tyr’uum, where the request was fulfilled. During their initial travel, the party would temporarily adopt two children, Adelaide and Adrian Lessak, survivors from the Kessemar attack who no longer have a place to call home. Upon entering the village, the party would be met by Lukan Hull, the youngest son of the village's chief, and by the young man's companion, a Drow by the name of Lyssete. While in Tyr’uum, Avejar and company would meet Titania Twill, a troubled Halfling antiquitist, looking for her misplaced lover, a Goliath named Rogash Guilefist. Avejar, along with his party, would be hired by Titania to locate the lost artificer within a cave north of the village.
The party would leave the Lessak children in the frazzled Halfling’s care as they went off to complete her request. While traveling to the cave, the party would meet an injured Tiefling by the name of Ikra Ma’arin, saving the young devilling from the predicament he had found himself in, stuck in a two hundred foot deep hole, bleeding out and injured. Once rescued, Ikra would be quick to tell the party that he was one of their client’s allies and would know how to get to the cave in a much faster manner. With the aid of their new ally, the party would reach the cave where the goliath was last seen.
Within the cave, the party would find the lost goliath but was told that a danger lurked within the bowels of the cavern. The party would be surprised as Avejar would be ambushed and pounced on by a creature, an injured Chimera cub, who the friendly Firbolg would heal immediately without hesitation. From the shadows, a hydra would make its presence known and a deadly battle ensued between it and the party. The party would defeat the hydra and would collect their quarry in Rogash Guilefist, but before they left, the party was able to acquire a crystalline shard in the depths of the cave, a shard filled with dark magical energy. The party would then make their way back to the village of Tyr’uum but with dire news, the Vulrian Cabal has influence within the village and there may be danger on the horizon, especially for the Lessak children as their family was a prime target of assassination during the attack on Kessemar.
Chapter 3: The Long Road to Solgrad
With newfound information about the influence the Vulrian Cabal had over the village of Tyr’uum, the party would scramble for ways to traverse to the village quickly. Ikra Ma’arin, the party’s temporary ally and companion of Rogash Guilefist, would offer them a trade, he would give the party a few Beads of Teleportation, in exchange for the Dominion Shard the party found within the cave where they had fought the hydra. With this, the party would send Koso Brassbeak, their Kenku Rogue, to make his way to the village, as he would be the fastest one out of all of them, because in order for the teleportation spell of the beads to work, another set must be placed at the desired location. Once Koso made it to the village, Avejar and the party would be teleported at the center of Tyr’uum, where they were immediately surrounded by members of the Vulrian Cabal, led by one of Sapteon Anatrof’s lieutenants, Amon Hull, the eldest son of Tyr’uum village’s chief. A battle ensued and the party would survive by the skin of their teeth, with Avejar doing his best to keep his allies alive but even with his efforts, was barely able to keep them safe. During this battle, Avejar and company would meet Mica Stone, a member of the now defunct Hiran Coalition and has made an ally out of her as she would join their merry band.
The party would make their escape from the Tyr’uum, with help from the Wrynn family, the same Dragonborns that they escaped Kessemar with. After leaving the village, they would rendezvous with Rogash Guilefist and Ikra Ma’arin. The two parties would then go to a nearby farm, where the Lessak children were being held for safety, protected by two Orcs, brothers who fought during the Burning Cataclysm. While at the farm, Avejar would feed the Chimera cub a fruit tart, who he had adopted and given the name, Unity. The party would say their farewells to the Wrynn family, along with the two lovers, Rogash and Titania, however, it would be revealed to the party, that Ikra had passed, taking his own life by consuming the Dominion Shard he had acquired from the party and his soul is now teetering between the realm of the living and the dead, desperately clinging on.
Avejar, along with the party, would journey onwards, to the city of Solgrad, the sister city of Oselia and one of the capital cities of Monrei. While traveling, the party would decide that taking the main road would be dangerous, as they have now been branded as traitors to the region due to the trouble that brewed in Tyr’uum. Through the mountain range the party went, passing through the Twilight Highlands and although it would be a longer journey, it would be much safer for them as the Vulrian Cabal would not be seen. While traversing the mountain range, the party would meet Nilus Del Vie, a retired adventurer who would sell them wares. At the tailend of their trek, they would stop by a shrine dedicated to Pardea, the Deity of Mortality and Protection. The party would then make it to Solgrad, but before entering, would don disguises, with Avejar, posing as a hoity-toity noblewoman by the name of Annalise De’fortun.
