Nightmares and Reality TV-Part 1

I jolt up, sweating from nightmares more than the summer heat. I open my eyes to see a blob laying beside me. Dax, my 6 year old brother, is sound asleep. He must of had a nightmare too. It's probably because of next week. Oh i didn't tell you. Next week is the week every 16 year old dreads.
 
After WWIII, and the new president started changing things. He restored law and order, sure. But him being his greedy self wanted entertainment.
 
Your every day, average, poor 16 year olds are drawn, at random to live in the Capital City, the most clean, rich place in the whole country.
 
All that sounds great! Does it not? Right now you should be sensing sarcasm because I'm being sarcastic. If it wasn't obvious. I mean it would be great if you didn't have to leave your family or be watched on TV as a reality/drama Series...
That's how it's advertised anyway. Here's how it really works.
Every summer 10 16 year old teens are chosen to leave their family, against their will and have their privacy invaded for the next year. You are watched CONSTANTLY. The worst part is people I've known have been on there, they say the producers just focus on the juicy stuff, they manipulate what you see so you don't see the truth. "The Lives of Our Miraceans" Is the most beloved reality Tv show.
 
Ok. It's not really a problem for most people...well unless you have miraculous powers like me...The president banned all magic. That's not even the biggest problem. There have been myths going around that the president found someone who had powers and he experimented on them and cut them up till they either died or swore to work for him.
