Strange Sewers
Our Coastal Town's sewer system has an infestation issue, particularly with spiders. Although not the scariest spiders I've seen, they were sure temperamental and webbed everything they could. Our party was tasked going into the sewers and figuring out any clue to the recent disappearances. Now when we got down there, it didn't take long for us to find a room that exploded by a previous adventure party. Turns out, it was the same explosion that put Koning into a coma that the priest and Lork told me about. We spent some time cleared rubble out of a couple passage ways that got blocked from the explosion and continued on into the sewers. Every so often we would pass by pipes on either side of the walls and could hear things scurrying somewhere within the pipes. Unfortunately some pretty large rats and spiders took an interest in us and managed to do some damage to us. Why Koning decided to not wear his full armor considering what occurred on his last venture down here is beyond me, but I admired his bravery. Those rats which were not small by any means got torn apart by Koning, Lork and his animal companion. Once we dealt with the creatures and healed ourselves and considered if we were not prepared enough, we decided to explore the sewers further in a hopes to finding a clue. We found a room or two, one looking large and inviting. We decided it was best to explore for now and come back better prepared. As we walked on, we got to a dead end and turned around and kept walking for what felt like longer than it should have until things started looking... the same as they did a moment ago. These cracks in the wall were the same just back there, so is that dent in that pipe fitting. I illuminated a rock for Kroning put it inside a pipe and we carried on until we rounded another couple corners and, wait a moment- there's a light faintly down another pipe. I casted the first letter of my name onto a wall as we continued to walk until I saw the letter again. I pointed this out and we decided to go backwards to the dead end, except it wasn't the dead end at all but the way we came and in a pipe was nested the illuminated rock. How strange, I couldn't sense any magic at all. I wonder if mother and father encountered this before, I must take note of this for further study.
Slightly unnerved by this discovery, we decided to head back to the surface and recollect ourselves with this new information. Thankfully, all we heard was more scurrying within the pipes we past until we got back to the surface.
Think I'll try some of those roasted nuts I saw earlier. They smell heavenly now that I'm back in fresh air.
