His body is covered in hundreds of scars from thousands of battles that he barely remembers in his Downcast state. If it weren't for this physical evidence, he'd almost be able to convince himself that all those wars and horrors were a dream.

As an angel, Raphean wore glowing runes denoting his many accomplishments as both a warrior and a medic. When he was Downcast, these runes burned with Hellfire and left scars in Celestial Script that can almost be read.

Raphean Ritorionas, once a revered combat medic in the celestial armies of Aurelia, found himself ensnared in the web of time by the god Ulmyr the Wise. As the loyal servant to the seraph Miklas, he had fought valiantly against demons and eldritch horrors, bringing healing and solace to his comrades on the front lines of divine wars. Serving under Miklas, a commanding figure in Aurelia's celestial forces, Raphean had dedicated himself to the cause of justice and order.
 
However, the final battles between the gods took a toll on Raphean's spirit. Witnessing the madness that consumed his fellow celestials and the seemingly endless conflicts that caused untold suffering among mortals, he became disenchanted with the celestial hierarchy. It was in these moments of disillusionment that Ulmyr the Wise, seeing the turmoil and doubt within Raphean and his choir, decided to strike.
 
Ulmyr trapped Raphean's medical unit in a time spell, a suspended state that shielded him from the chaos of divine warfare. Years passed, and Raphean's existence became a mere whisper in the annals of celestial history. When the spell eventually wore off, Raphean emerged into a world vastly changed. The celestial realms had shifted, and Etharis bore the scars of the gods' conflicts.
 
Stripped of most of his celestial essence, Raphean found himself mortal, vulnerable, and burdened with memories of a war-ravaged past. Wandering Etharis as a humble mendicant doctor, he embraced a new purpose - to alleviate the suffering of the mortal realm. Taking the surname Ritorionas, a title that once signified his role as a Combat Medic in the angelic host, he now used his healing skills to mend wounds and cure illnesses among the people of Etharis.
 
Raphean's days were spent traveling from town to town, tending to the sick and wounded, and offering his services as a humble healer for as near as free as he could. No longer a celestial being, he relied on the generosity of those he aided, begging for enough to sustain his mortal form. Despite the challenges of mortality, Raphean found solace in his newfound mission, seeking redemption and meaning in the simple acts of compassion he performed each day.
 
As Raphean Ritorionas, the once-mighty angel-turned-mortal, he embarked on a journey of healing and self-discovery, determined to make amends for the collateral suffering he had witnessed in the wars of the gods.
