Personal history

Asketil was born into the Gongreaper family, inheriting his position as well as their social stigmas. He was raised on the homestead, learning from books rather than tutors who rarely made their way out to the gong farm.
 
As a man, Asketil enjoys walks in nature, and has developed ambitions to rise above his station. Consequently, he has taken up brewing and herb collecting. His access to the gong farm and surrounding woodlands means he has a near endless variety of mushrooms to choose from. More, in fact, than Asketil could identify and categorize through books alone.
 
Nobody can be entirely sure whether the "voice of nature" that he listens to is a result of his deep love and veneration of nature and both its physical and spiritual components or whether he simply sampled the wrong sort of mushroom and experienced all that would result.
 
Now, he has a mind bending towards adventure. Perhaps, he supposes, he will eventually settle down into the life of a brewer, gong farmer, cunning man, witch doctor, or spice dealer. Before that happens, he wants to experience the life of an adventurer fighting monsters and saving damsels.

Education

Self taught through books. Asketil has a chip on his shoulder about being taught much of anything directly and prefers to learn on his own.

Employment

Asketil wears many hats, but is primarily known for gong farming with his family and brewing his slumbershaf beer.

Surprisingly, Asketil is obsessively clean. He never passes up an opportunity to wash his hands and face, bathes regularly, and habitually wears disposable clothing.
 
His clothes are usually made from burlap, felt, or mushroom fibers and simply arranged with minimal effort or material so that when they become soiled he can simply throw them into the fire and wear a new one, as the smell of the gong farm rarely leaves completely.
 
He also spends an inordinate amount of money on perfumes, deodorants, and colognes.
