Personal history

Meridi grew up in Odessa, the free district in the poorest district called "the hang". As an orphan and amphibious he took to pearl diving with his childhood friend and secret crush Nesala.

Unlike other orphans in the hang, who were often bullied or forced into service with The Diving Dragons - a gang that operated in the hang - meridi was under the protection of Erada, a kind older woman who saved him as a young street orphan. Erada would leave for days or weeks at a time but always return with stories about the crazy world that gave meridi the desire to explore. Erada would always offer to take him with her but he never wanted to abandon his friend Nesala so always turned her down.

One day however Nesala disappeared. Meridi looked for months for a clue of where she went but no one had any information and most assumed she had finally been taken by the dragons. After a few months of finding nothing Erada told meridi she was leaving odessa forever. He then asked her to take him with her and join her group. at this point meridi had no idea who the Dimir were and no idea what he was getting himself into.

He spent the next few years training under house dimir in many different districts all over ravnica and after showing much talent in illusion and enchantment magic was taken as a spy.

He was then assigned under his old friend and mentor Erada to operate inside the 10th district - the heart of guild power in ravnica - to infiltrate various guilds and plant agents. Meridi was assigned the Golgari where Erada and her peer Jaslow were assigned the Boros.

Into the Maze of Decay

Sometimes the power of comradery can be a terrifying thing.
Today we went into the Maze of Decay, Korozda. After some time (and I say that loosely as I have no idea how long we’ve been down here) of following that twerp Xygmia, it appeared as though we had gotten lost. Throom took it upon himself to investigate a suspicious formation in the side of the maze, a grove of sorts.
Well, I’ll be damned, but we got into an almighty scrap. Two huge mushroom like entities. There was no way we were getting out of there alive. I tried to get in so I could get Throom and get out but it just caused me to face peril myself. Juno was invaluable at this stage – saved me and Throom.
I decided the best I could do was distract one of the creatures while my companions fought off the other. Throom made it out with the staff that nearly cost us our lives. I hope it proves valuable down the line.
Probably for the best if we stay on guard for the remaining creature. We sort of just legged it to get away from there.
Talking to Throom he said he learnt some valuable information while in there. He told me the tale of Sobgothis, the Parun of the Golgari. Was said to be amongst the ten most powerful creatures in Ravnica prior to the guildpact, whereby he gave power and control to ensure the safety of the plane.
Just when we thought we could catch our breath we saw a bipedal spider like creature. It appeared to converse with Clancy, who said he mentioned the City of Quinth. Perhaps at some stage we should check it out?
