Born Thuli Tallbrook, the product of an illicit affair between her mother and an Efreet, Blaze was never recognized by her Wyvernbranch step-father and was instead raised by her maternal grandfather, disguised as a distant relative taken in as a ward. The moment Blaze showed signs of magical aptitude, she was sent off to a school of wizardry to learn. Upon her return, her mother died of apparent spontaneous combustion, and the Fire Genasi was blamed. She proved her innocence, but was still "encouraged" to leave the Tallbrook mansion. She abandoned her heritage, took on the name "Blaze," and set off to make her own way as an adventurer.
