Personal history
Originally a clerk in Restov for one of the various merchant guilds, Oleg received orders to move to the trading post that would become his name. Pulling in favors from some unscrupulous sorts, Oleg wound up with a nest-egg and a new, young wife to help him.
Oleg and his wife, Svetlana, spent the past few months rebuilding an abandoned border fort on the edge of the Stolen Lands and turning it into a trading post.
While their customers were few and far between, consisting mostly of trappers, hunters, and an eccentric local hermit named Bokken, trade in furs, jerky, and the occasional magic potion from Bokken were enough to keep them in business.
Three months before the Kingmakers arrived at the trading post with their new charter to explore the stolen lands, several bandits robbed Oleg and Svetlana, then returned every few months to collect their taxes.
Oleg is missing his ring finger from his left hand; this was courtesy of the bandit name Kressle (whom he had previous relations that ended poorly).
Were it not for the fact that he feared for his wife’s fate, he would have doubtless sacrificed his life to the bandits in a foolish attempt to defend his stock when they first paid a visit 3 months ago. The fact that he’s been forced to turn over each month’s stock to the bandits shames him, but he does his best to mask that shame with a stubborn and gruff attitude. His wife Svetlana knows how much the situation pains him, and knows that she’s the reason that he hasn’t stood up to the bandits and how that act of humility is crushing his soul.

Contacts & Relations
Svetlana: Things have been strained between the two of them due to the revelation she was a member of The Family. He still loves her, but that innocent pride in his 'trophy wife' has been lost.
Kressle: At one time, they had a fling behind Svetlana's back. This was mostly so Kressle could use the old man for food, shelter, and information. It ended poorly, and the two of them have never seen eye-to-eye since. Losing a finger to her doesn't help, either.
