Willi Herold; Commander of Task Force Herold.
"A few lies; Small, big, whatever helps you through dark times."'
Willi Herold is the commanding officer of Task-Force Herold, the vaunted German mage regiment responsible for traveling up and down the front lines and eliminated targets of opportunity as well as facing off against hard-line mages on the opposing side. Herold was born on the outskirts of Berlin in 1917, towards the end of the First Weltkrieg and the end of the German Kaiserreich. Working in shops and businesses during his early youth in the Wiemar period, he attended public school provided by the state and honed his magic capabilities at local training centers provided by veterans of the World War, where he quickly gained an unnatural understanding of his powers at a young age.
After public school, Herold attended Friedrich Wilhelm University in Berlin where he studied law for two years, before being drafted into the Magic Divisions of the Reich. He trained in the armed forces for six months before earning his officer ship, where after he was promoted to Captain and tasked with training other mages. Once the war came, he was initially assigned to a roaming court, "Schnell-Gericht Herold," before being given control over his own regiment of Mages. It was in this position that he quickly proved his worth, and began to rise through the ranks (and minds of top leaders) quickly.
The rise of the Reich, and its effects on him, remain somewhat clouded; we know that he had a Jewish Girlfriend and that she was likely taken away by the Nazis, but beyond that, little information is had.
