Wrong Answer is an orc priest and adventurer from the Tormvald Plateau on the island of Talanas. He hails from the North Bandir Wood and has been active in the surrounding areas of that forest, particularly in and around Orst Aerie.
Wrong Answer's Story
Wrong Answer does not have any knowledge of his natural parents. His actual parents, Vaelen and Moira are human farmers who took him in when Moira found the baby orc floating in a wicker basket, downstream on the
Reev Bandir. For years, the couple had prayed to Settah, the Mistress of the Dawn and the Dusk to bless them with children. But their prayers went unanswered until the orc orphan came along. With more than a little sense of irony, the couple gave the child the moniker "Wrong Answer", a cheeky reference to their years of praying.
Vaelen and Moira were private people who made their home in a small community on the aforementioned river's banks not far from
Bandir's Turn. As private as they were, their unusual family unit brought them more attention than most and they didn't want that. As Wrong grew into adolescence, the family migrated further and further upstream. Ultimately, they wound up settling in the Lower
Bandir Wood, near the origin of the stream that brought Wrong to them.
When the
War of the Night King broke out all around the, the trio withdrew into their home even further. Moira and Vaelen had raised their son to follow their own pacifist traditions. There would be no fighters coming from their household. They taught their charge as much as they knew, which was mostly limited to the tenets and teachings of the goddess of the balance, and Wrong took to theology even more than they expected.
By the time it became clear that the agressions of the war had finally exhausted themselves, Wrong Answer was an adult man of more than two decades of summers. He was hungry to learn more about who he was, or rather, who he might have been, if fate hadn't put him in a basket floating down a river. The talk of the war ending made it seem safe to come out of seclusion and the young cleric set out into the world. He decided he would head to the closest settlement of a significant size. After winter's icy grip finally broke over the
Bandir Vald, Wrong Answer set off towards
Orst Aerie.
Wrong Answer's Description and Mannerisms
Wrong Answer is as big physically as his persona is large. He stands more than six and a half feet in height and is every bit as imposing as he looks. Bald and green-skinned and physically powerful, he's every bit of his orc ancestry. But his upbringing make him much more than this. He also harbors a strong sense of justice and an abhorrence for evil.
On the battlefield, even though he is primarily a healer, Wrong Answer has no qualms with inflicting as much pain as he soothes. He's grown accustomed to fighting alongside the fearsome hobgoblin, Vinegar Tom. Truth be told, he rather enjoys bashing enemies' skulls in. Some figure that if he can't redeem them in life, maybe he can dispatch them to the afterlife where their souls might be saved.
