Appearance
Physical Description
Jareth is of a slim and fit build, having ran in the wild with the animals. He is lean and athletic like that of the best warriors. This also helps with his performances.
Body Features
Jareth's body is softly chiseled and fit, like the bodies of the paintings of Adonis, Apollo, Hermes, Eros and other gods. His beauty is divine.
Facial Features
Jareth's facial features give off an aura of divinity, but also whimsy. His features are enchanting to look at, and invoke curiosity. His big upturned, almost feline shaped eyes, glisten with a purple hue, swirling and glowing at first glance. They hold a curiosity, but also a bit of sorrow. He has a narrow nose, that is long and slightly pointed, like those of the typical forest nymphs or imps if you will. He has wide lips, that hold a sort of doll like pout, they can be brought to a devilish smirk however. His ears are pointed like that of elves, but more angular at the tip, to show his Fae ancestors.
Identifying Characteristics
His identifying features are his honey colored hair, purple eyes, and statuesque beauty. His skin almost has a glow or glisten to it as well.
Physical quirks
Jareth bites his lip when curious, or intrigued. He often times has eyes that stare off into nothing, as if day dreaming. He twiddles with his hair and fabrics when nervous. The clinging of jewelry accompanies his many hand movements.
Apparel & Accessories
Jareth dresses very eloquently for what he's able to sew and make himself. His Oma(Grandmother) taught him when he was but a young sprout to make clothes in case he had to live off the land. His clothes were made and interwoven with magic in every strand of fabric. His clothes usually consist of purple and plum colors, with accents of gold. He tends to wear lots of jewelry and various accessories.
Mentality
Personal history
Jareth grew up in Colnach Bog(The Bog) far from the bustling towns of Eire, from the commotion of the quaint villages, the marching in the military towns, or the early risings of the fishing docks. He grew up seeing very little of civilization, as was expected for someone from the Ammait coven of witches. In fact, Jareth could probably count on his fingers the amount of people his family had allowed him to see or interact with. It wasn't custom for his family to interact with the outside folk, unless there was business to attend to. Even so, Jareth was far too young and inexperienced to do any of the "business" his family did. This being a factor, he spent most of his time either roaming the forests of Colnach, tending to the mansion, or reading as much as his whimsical, curious brain could muster. He had been fascinated with the outside world, for as long as he could remember. He would sit for hours listening to his mother Czarina(Zarina, Empress) tell him stories of her travels in the outside world, much to his aunt's dismay. They believed it wasn't useful to fill his head with "Mortal Nonsense", but it didn't matter to his mother or Jareth. They rarely got to see each other, so when she graced him with stories of the world, they both relished what little time they had together. His Oma, did not necessarily approve of the stories, but she always had a soft spot for Jareth and allowed him to have his idle fantasies of what the world would be like. His mother was often busy doing political inquires, subterfuge, or making connections for the coven, on the far corners of the continent. His aunts were all in charge of different tasks involving their "business". His aunt Dusana(Soul), was in charge of enchanting, communion with the dead, crafting magical trinkets, clothing, heirlooms, etc. both cursed and blessed. Muirealla(One from the Sea) was in charge of alchemical potions, herbs, poultices, and anything in between. Agnessa(Chaste, Splender) was in charge of riches, fertility, battle outcomes, along with blessing and cursing noble houses. All of the work the aunts and his Oma did, were not outside of the god's jurisdiction however. They knew their boundaries, and knew that should they cross them, the gods would take back what was rightfully theirs. Their beauty.
The gods had bestowed a blessing upon them long ago, when they were but a coven of hideous hags in the bog. This blessing made them divinely beautiful to go with their already staggering power, but it came at a price. Anyone that were to fall in love with the members of this coven, and have that love be returned, would suffer from a curse. This curse would begin by causing their immediate family tree to wither and decay, with people dying one by one, with the lover being last. Jareth had never seen or experienced this, but the thought shook him to the core. He had heard rumors growing up, that his mother had fallen prey to this curse with his father, but when he asked his aunts and Oma, they provided little information. One would think the curse would tighten the binding of kin, but this was not the case. Given the state of his family relationships, he spent as much time as possible away from his aunts out in the deep forests, where the barrier between the human world and the Fey, was thin.
Through the rolling hills, valleys, and trees, Jareth ran wild with the every type of animal he could find. It was in the deep forest that he cultivated his love for nature, and his affinity with animals. The vibrant flora and fauna practically called his name, the wind whispering and caressing his cheek. It was there he met the only true friend he had ever had. A large stag made of moss and bark. Jareth gave him the nickname of Bucky. He was the best listener, and was the only one Jareth could tell anything. He didn't speak to Jareth in the usual way, but telepathically with images and emotions. Through doing this, he taught him how to communicate with other animals, and gave him access to a type of magic his family would have considered "weak". They would say to him, "Why work WITH nature when you could bend it to your will?" but Jareth didn't view it that way. That is likely why Bucky chose him as a friend. His aunts would often times tease and ridicule him, calling him a "delicate flower". Even his grandmother who usually was less harsh on him, would often say "You are a lovely singing songbird, but those are nothing compared to the powerful birds of prey. You must learn my young sprout." He never understood why his family saw kindness as weakness. This is why he cherished his time he spent with his friend. He learned so much from Bucky. Most of his days were spent studying lore in the library of his ancestral mansion, and running through the forest realm with Bucky. It was like this for most of his adolescence, which is probably why he never noticed his family making preparations to leave. His Oma had told Jareth tales of her sisters, and other members of the coven, eventually migrating to the Feywild to ascend to their true forms. He never understood because his illusive grandmother never elaborated. He knew that was hundreds of years ago, so he assumed he'd never see the day when they would leave. He was mistaken.
He returned home one night after a witches festival his family was hosting. His aunts made him leave the house so he went to the woods, as he always did, this time falling asleep near a small creek. He fell prey to violent nightmares. His dreams were filled with visions of war, malice, giant monsters, fire filling the sky, the mountains moving and crumbling to dust. All of this was followed by the sounds of chains. What he saw was nothing he had seen before, which woke him with a start. When he awoke near the creek, the forest was eerily silent. He rushed home seeing that it was twilight, dreading the scolding he'd get from his family, but when he arrived, there was no one there. His home was completely deserted. He waited and waited, but no one came home. After a week, he began to feel sorrow and abandonment. After a month, anger. Once six months passed, he gave up on the idea of seeing them and came to terms with the fact of them leaving. With his family gone, he spent so much time tending to the house, and researching about their migration to the Feywild, though his research proved to be mostly fruitless.
He waited approximately 6 more months before deciding that he was tired of waiting around while time passed around him. He got everything he needed in order at home, and bid his farewells to the forest creatures. Though when he looked for Bucky, the stag was nowhere to be found. He asked the other forest folk to relay a farewell to Bucky, promising to return one day. Through tearful partings, he packed his things, and set out for the town of Colnach. For the first time in a long time, he was out in uncharted lands. It was time he forged his own destiny. Perhaps, he'd find out more about his family, or run into his mother. The possibilities were endless. So for now, Jareth walked, and to pass the time, the little song bird began to sing.
Education
Since as long as he could remember, he loved reading the books in his families library. For some reason the book supplies never ran out, so he was always reading about the world around him
Employment
He's never had a job before, but he's done plenty of tasks for the forest folk and his family.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Learning to speak to animals, and befriending Bucky.
Failures & Embarrassments
His family often ridiculed him for his kind mentality, and his choice of magical study. They also didn't approve of his interest in the outside world, so he is slightly ashamed of it. He got in trouble when he was young for saying he couldn't wait to fall in love, and since then, he is hesitant to even say the word.
Mental Trauma
His aunts have teased and chastised him his entire life for his "soft" personality, and his view of the world. This has made him develop a complex of not wanting to show them his soft side. He was never allowed to interact with outsiders, so he's been pretty isolated. He rarely ever got to see his mother, which gave him a sense of abandonment issues, which were only solidified when his family left him. Due to his curse, he's also terrified to fall in love. His family never called themselves a family and he would get punished for doing so, but he refused to see them as anything else. Despite his malicious aunts, he still loved them all and considered them much more than a coven.
Intellectual Characteristics
Jareth is incredibly witty, and fast to adapt from his time in the forest. His curiosity has gotten the better of him quite a bit, and he retains information pretty well. He's also highly emotionally intelligent despite his family stunting him.
Morality & Philosophy
Despite his family being self serving and morally grey, he has always held himself to a higher standard. He believes in doing what he thinks if right, and has often times been called "weak" for this mentality.
person.sexuality
Jareth has never interacted with outsiders before, but he has read about them for decades. He always found himself drawn to the heroic men or dashing princes of the great stories.
person.gender_identity
His family never really used gendered terms unless referring to animals or outsiders, so he doesn't think much of the subject, he just knows he different than his other family members.
Taboos
His personal taboos are to never intentionally hurt animals, and to never fall in love.
