I am the first and only son of Lady Genevieve Petherick and Silas Branigan Smith. I have three sisters, Isadora, who is eighteen and works aboard my father's prize vessel, "The Boundless"; Rosalind, who is fifteen and a gifted violinist; and Clementine, just five years of age who is suffering badly after losing her leg in a raid. I get along well with my family with the exception of Rosalind; I am very jealous of her success.
 
I lived an ordinary childhood and had a few close friends: Giles Lupton, Arthur Whitely and Graham Beaumont. Giles spends his days at sea but I occasionally see him in the ports of Redwater. Arthur went into his family business of leather-working and works in a small shop in Redwater. Graham returned to his hometown of Beaumont to dedicate his life in service of the Watcher.
 
I squired for Sir Fox Wakefield, a loyal servant of our family, who taught me how to fight, care for a steed, and conduct myself with honour. I decided to take up that path for myself.
 
A horde of dragonborn raiders attacked my home. I bravely fought them off with the assistance of Sir Fox but they mortally wounded my young sister, Clementine. As a result, I harbour deep resentment towards dragonborn.
 
Now that I am sixteen, my father has entrusted me with independence to explore and forge my own path. I am excited to see what adventures lay before me.
