Mentality

Personal history

Miles lived with his parents in Shonhausen, a principality in the country of Deutch. His family had very strong ties to the military, with his mother being a general and his father being the commander of one ofDeutch's most esteemed special operations forces. Shonhausen was a fine place to live... if you were human. The people of Deutch usually do not particularly appreciate the company of another race, but Shonhausen is by far the most bigoted principality of them all. When miles was growing up, he trained in the use of many weapons, and was quite successful in his military career, obtaining the rank of sergeant at the age of 14. His career stopped there however, when one of his most bitter rivals challenged him to a sparing match. The match went poorly for Miles quite quickly when his opponent got a few lucky shots in early on. It became apparent that even though Miles was beaten, his adversary continued to beat on Miles. He was meaning to kill him. At this time, Miles heard a voice that would soon become familiar to him speak to him for the first time. A beautiful feminine voice told him "Miles, unleash your radiant soul!" At that moment Miles' eyes glowed, a halo of golden light appeared hovering above his head, and an aura of pure radiance surrounded him. He struck back at his rival, who fell to the ground, alive, but unconcious. After the aura let up, a brand of Helioa was left on his forehead. It was clear to everyone: he was no human. The simple fact that he was even a little bit different that normal people was enough to inspire hatred from everyone, even his own parents. They neglected him until his 18th birthday. In those four years, he began researching with the only person he could call a friend, a boy named Augustus. He helped Miles research what exactly he was. It was found, with the help of the voice in his head, that Miles was an aasimar, a mortal champion of the Originator blessed with a divine spark, born for a specific purpose that is greater than what the average person can accomplish. The voice in his head turned out to be Ermeiel, an angel sent to guide Miles through life so that he can complete his destiny. She taught Miles how to summon her as a familiar, taking the form of a golden eagle. On his 18th birthday, Miles was evicted from his parents home, and when no one else would give him shelter, he decided that he was done with Shonhausen. Miles, along with Augustus, traveled for a time, but eventually decided to part ways. Miles traveled as a sell-sword for a while, but eventually came to Warshaw when he was 22 where he would join with a group of rag-tag adventurers.

Miles was educated in basic evocation magic when he was 14, but before he could learn more, he was disowned and as a result had to teach himself.
