Description

An imposing figure, Curuth Jarlan, stands above most humans. His crystal form shimmers in the light but reflects a bit more of a blue hue when in the light.
 
His armour is meticulously clean and hammered out from any imperfections. A large circle appears on the shoulders with a more ornate symbol of the moon on the chest.
 
His greataxe is less clean but still kept sharp with a battleaxe at the ready should he lose his first one.
 
Loud and imposing when people hurt those he care for. But generally a kind hearted and carrying shy person.
 

Before Barovia

Curuth doesn’t remember much of his childhood. He remembers a lot of walking, he remembers the forests, he remembers a tribe, but the tribe went away, or he did…it’s a bit of a haze.
 
But he does remember standing in a thick bit of trees staring up at the moon and following it as it walked through the sky.
 
He eventually found a small town and a temple. At first, people were scared by the creature but seeing how young and how nervous he was some started to feed him and try and take care of him. But Curuth didn’t want to stay in the town.
 
A few days later he was back in forest following the moon again.
 
The years would add up and he would continue to follow the moon some nights until arriving at a town or a city.
 
He’d stop in and learnt to speak with people. Shy at first, he opens up and talks more over time.
 
When he was around 18 he arrived in a village with a temple to the moon god Selune. He wandered in and started staring at the symbols before a cleric of the order approached. He invited Curuth to stay and learn. And he did. He would sleep in the woods but in the morning he’d come back for more lessons.
 
And so it would be for several years. Without realising it, Curuth had grown to love the village. He grew stronger over the years and began helping people in the town when he was there. He learnt how to play the flute, he learnt to fight, and he learnt about the gods.
 
Over time though, he sensed an unease with the residents of the village. Not with him, but something…something evil. One day the cleric came to see him in the forest. Curuth was out hunting and didn’t see the priest. Instead just finding a note with a set of armour. The note told him it was time for him to leave.
 
Curuth donned the armour and went to thank the priest, but when he arrived, the village was destroyed. The temple burnt to the ground and the bodies of the villagers he’d known and cared for were strewn about.
 
The tracks were a mess and Curuth couldn’t follow. He spent days burring the dead and practicing the prayers he had learnt.
 
He started calling himself Curuth Jarlan, taking the name of the priest as his own. Carrying the person who brought him into the faith as he ventured forward.
 
And for the last years, Curuth Jarlan has done just that. Followed the moon to more cities and towns and villages. Helping fight where needed.
