In life, Cimberly was a gifted but overly ambitious mage who delved into dark magic, seeking immortality by becoming a lich. Her ritual, flawed by a critical misstep, backfired horrendously, leaving her as a ghost bound to her phylactery. She gained eternal limbo, unable to progress her studies or leave her spectral form. Her current state reflects her incomplete passage to undeath.   Her phylactery was stolen by Cedric Brambelfoot when he found her skeleton in her laboratory.
