"Hm... you want to know, why did I decide to join Spyglass?
Well, aside from heritage...
Truth be told, one of the reasons I'm working here is because I want to know the truth.
I'm not sure, that you follow my trail of thought, but... have you ever wondered about our history?
About all the blank spots and seeming stretches?
When I and my blokes were flying to Io onboard this ancient tin can from old Earth, I've thought about it. A lot.
Maybe that was an influence of the facility I grew up in, maybe it's just some product of my mind, but... I want to learn, what exactly happened during those strange ages - the early years of Vector existence.
I want to learn, why was this facility so empty, when my blokes found it. As I've mentioned, it could support a lot of people in it - up to a few thousands, if my memory is any good.
I want to learn, what became of other facilities, which were mentioned on one of the monitoring systems, but had their connections severed and coordinates corrupted.
I want to learn, why does this property, that makes us fall into trance upon hearing human voice, still exist in our genes.
And Spyglass... maybe it's not the best place to learn the art of learning things that are hidden, but it's a good enough start."

"Our arrival on Pyros was... surprisingly uneventful.
After Minos got Whisper-bombed and we've had to escape from it by the means of pulse drive - damaging the station in process - and then we've also got a stand-off with local IRPF peacekeepers, who really didn't want to risk getting hit by a nuclear lance that our drive charges could double as...
Basically, once things got to semi-normal, dad contacted hir old collector friend from one of the local grottos and, after a small exchange, sold our ship and most stuff onboard it to him for a large amount of brouzouf.
Using this brouzouf - as well as cut for the data we've got from the Earth, - my blokes and me settled in one of the older grottos around there, called Pyros.
It's not a bad grotto, all in all, being in size of a Longbow and mostly populated with families of retirees, that saw way too much shit in their lives.
The one thing that makes people like it a bit less is that it's a construction, created by the humans of old Earth, using their experimental automatics and, in general... well, long story short, it's not exactly welcome to Vectors and Cogs - it's more like that it tolerates them onboard.
It's still was noticeably made with humans as populace in mind, though, which you can still see in the less-populated sectors, that have furniture built with no accounting for tails in mind, PSA systems with pre-recorded messages in human voice and so on and so on. Still, no one cared about it enough to actually try and demolish it and it seems like locals of Io were fine with some squatters taking a place on it - at least someone'd keep an eye on the shenanigans of this place.
Well... shenanigan-prone this place definitely is - sometimes there are some unidentified white Blip-alikes swimming in the lakes and rivers, weird pale shadows in alleys, once I've even seen something akin to huge Chiroptera-Reptile Lateral hybrid... can't describe it better, truth be told.
So yeah, quite a place to live."
